Both running Win 10 PRO.
I run latest win11 version and dx12 also.
I guess this old video is still relevant if you have to mess around with these things.

Core parking fix video.
I haven't even touched those settings heh. Like Todd Howard says: IT just works!
How about lowering setting to something the PC can handle instead? If you are hard crashing several times then you need to lower settings.
Put max FPS on 80 or something. And if your CPU still gets to hot lower it more.
I don't think this is a game issue at all so watch the video.
if you computer can not handle some software it is hardware issue not software issue.
If you computer melts down you do not have enough cooling.
I know that it could be this guy's case. But the main issue with POE 2 is that i play many games in it's ultra setting and have no problems. With POE 2 sometimes it freezes in it's first loading screen (the one that loads the game). Tried every OS changes and tweaks recommended. But nothing seems to work. I have an i7 14th and 4090.
I know it's in early access so i am just waiting, playing other games. But i dont think the issue is lower the settings for MY pc. Tried it also.
I dont care if it's Windows or GGG problem. I just hope they work it out for the hundreds (at least that's how many people i read on forum,s reddit, x, etc.) that have the same problem. The game is great!
That is the safest and best solution for now. The game needs some patches for sure, and those that has computers freezing/crashing needs to either solve it if possible or wait it out a bit while patches roll out.
This is a tell tale sign that your system isnt stable. Used to happen to me with Ghost recon wildlands. turned out i had a ram stick that wasnt perfectly stable at the xmp setting. id get random crashes sometimes in other games but not very often but wildlands would restart my pc anytime i played.
