Sekhema Trial is Infinitely harder than Trials of chaos for no reason.

The honour system is completely unforgivable especially for melee builds even after the "buff" and even more brutal in cruel difficulty. complete 24 maps without being hit because RNG will screw you over and not give honour restoration. by the time you reach the 3rd boss you have so many negative effects its almost impossible to complete unless you are a god gamer and perfect dodge all attacks and can melt the boss. and if you fail a level 60+ djinn barya has a drop rate similar to the chance of your dad coming back
Meanwhile in trials of chaos uhhh kill the bad guy choose to die faster or die fasterer you can take as much hits as you can heal just murder everything in sight with your (hopefully at this point) high dps map clearing build, and the level 60+ ultimatums drop like candy to top it off.

The skill difference needed is wild here, sehkemas is the first trial you encounter so why is it more difficult than chaos trials?

There's someone at GGG who really, really thinks the Sekhema trial mechanics are brilliant and shouldn't be reworked despite overwhelmingly negative feedback on it. For added failure the rewards at the end are subject to double RNG, because you simply may not get many keys. Chaos on the other hand flat out gives you a rare each level.

I agree, it's not gratifying or rewarding, just painful, and the random aspect is punishing, no pleasure in making this content, even if you have to earn your points.

My damage/resistances is not the issue here at all, 80% phys 70% lightning cold fire and chaos, i take zero damage during the trial but my honour is getting tanked from every attack especially archers

My least liked mechanic in poe 2 is the tedious feeling of getting ascendancy points. I'm not going to rage on it but ya, would love to see it complete ditched and re-worked.

Expensive rings and gloves, 99% of my armour is from the brass dome 20% quality and 2 iron runes

3 floors of sanctum? cleaning the bathroom would be more fun

and as far as I can tell, I can't do ultimatum as my 3rd trial, all the 60+ tokens say no points will be awarded. I thought we were supposed to be able to choose which we wanted to do?

Had no issues with that on monk or witch, choose safer nodes next time ? Chaos ones i had a really hard time on monk due to bad rng massively buffing enemy/boss dps. A better weapon solved my issue there - solo league so took some tries.

You can choose. But it's choice between Trial of Chaos 10 rounds or Trial of Sekhema 3 floors.

Honestly, third floor still fine. As warrior i goes in only fire damage, Blackflame ring and just kaboom that poor scorpion girl with Hammer of the God.
But the fourth floor... There is most annoying mobs. All 8 rooms is just bullet hell. I can clear the whole third floor without, or with minimum hits, but i lose a lot of my hounor in each of 8 rooms on fourth floor. Like... I can big bonk rares, but i cannot get close to them for bonk in Chalice. Map layout us a thin corridors. Map mobs is all range. They just shooting outside of my 21:9 monitor, so i can't move further. I came in fourth floor with 3200 hounor. Lost like 1600 in first room. Lost my boon which restores some honour at room in which i enter with 800 or smth. Get to 2200 and immediately drops back to 1000. Like in one attack from vase mob that was near rare.
Chalice - a lot of ranges and no room to dodge.
Escape - lots of stairs and big mobs blocking them. If i haven't Leap Slam, i don't know how to do it.
Hourglass - lots of big HP guys, like goliaths and some ranges. My big bonk can't kaboom even white one, so i just ran around trying not to be close in corridor by big guy.
Gauntlets - honestly, as much as i don't like them, maybe easiest on this floor.
And all this suffer through fourth floor just to die from boss mini game, cuz bad rng.
Boss do no damage, takes a lot, but you should be lucky enough just for hours.

Again. 10 rounds. Not 7 rounds. 10. It's 75+ token. You can see what you need to do for points in right top corner in passive tree. Just hover on Ascendancy Points.
