Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Is this game overrated?
I bought this game and barely played a few hours so far.

What actually made me hesitate to keep up are the lack of character customization and the lack of outfits even which could be purchased from the store.

Besides, i have never played such game before except D4 just a bit of a time and kind of feeling scared yet confused.

Any opinions?

Still spending your time hating huh?

Man your friends must love having you in their game currently.
only 1 man left standing. the others realized to game is total trash. did a bunch of juiced maps earlier and ended up with less currency than when i started

LOL

100% garbage

oh i see, only 57 hours played so far. like a little lost fawn in the woods. get back to me after doing mapping. im sure youll be trashing this garbage just like me

LOL

57 hours of gaming for 30$ is good value, especially since he enjoyed them.
Whereas it looks like you spent a lot more time on this game you hate?

If you are looking for an eternal lasting game to replace real life, maybe you should concern yourself about the quality of your life rather than that of your games.

Now for the more useful part of this post:

This game is good and with potential, at least from my “casual” perspective.

My biggest issue is the levels feeling too random generated and repetitive for their size.
The problem isn’t necessarily that they are too big, as is often said, but they don’t have the variety and hand crafted uniqueness to support interest for the time needed to clear them.

Think of the Souls games, where the environmental design has a constant influence on the fighting, contributing variety to the challenges.
Souls games provide variety by combining 2 elements: unique enemy design + unique level layouts, mixed to provide a lot of unique challenges.
PoE2 goes for Souls methodical gameplay but relies mostly on enemy mix to keep each zone interesting, which gets repetitive faster, especially when some enemies don’t require unique tactics (or even attack timings, to reference Soul games again).

It needs more hand crafted levels, like that place with the “sun” inside, considerate level design and enemy placement, more elements in the environment able to affect the gameplay.

About game balance, this is EA, that’s all,

Good game but definitely overrated.
If character customisation and fashion are what you're looking for in a game, this is not it.

basically the only ones enjoying it atm are Poe1 hardcore fans who are happy that they get a better looking game
Guys, i let you know that i have not launched this thread to badmouth about the game. I just stated my opinions regarding the lack of some content i care about.

I had a friend who played Heroes 3 and chosen only good looking (cute) units. So yes. People like that exist.

This game really focus on experimenting builds. It's like playing a competitive game, you research, test and research again. That is the appeal. Most game are one time play through and after people finish those games, they will come back to poe2.
go back to kindergarten, kid

The opinions on Steam Comments are often completely subjective, often factually questionable, or so opinionated they are basically ragebait, crying, hyperbolic, salty, and sometimes occasionally pretty accurate.

Best to form your own opinions, however I question the "problem" of character creation being a limiting factor. Its an isometric game, you barely spend time actually looking at your character, because the view is so oblique, and you better be paying attention to the enemies and bosses because they will absolutely wreck you at the first opportunity.

This is an ACTION rpg first and foremost. Your character is just a starting position on the passive tree and a collection of skill and support gem optional recommendations - nothing more. I'm getting very confused about the number of people getting pretty upset in some comments that characters are gender locked and there is no customisable character creator - there are other games for that stuff.

The most stupid thing about Diablo 4 is the character creator. I can have tattoos you cant actually see because they are covered by armour. When does my eye colour matter? I'm wearing a helmet. Vitiligo? So what? I'm covered in armour. Massively detailed weapons with intricate inlaid gems and twisted metals for MTX skins? I see the character from 30ft up in the air, all that detail is absolutely wasted for 99.9% of my play time.

If the options are presented, people will obviously go for their prefered versions, but when a lack of character creation options are complained about it will be viewed as very low priority, especially when there are so many more important things for GGG to be focusing on instead.
