Roll until you get 50+% physical damage modifier.
It makes all the difference.
So yeah, he does get some hits in, but if things don't get stunned immediately or die from my leap, I get to boneshatter and the entire group blows up. Its great. Put martial tempo on your mace attack to compensate for the slow attack speed. I kinda only use mace attack on bosses though so not that important.
But as any martial weapon user knows, you need a good one to feel like a god. Lots of phys damage, or flat damage bonuses. Nothing else matters much. I spend an exalt every 10 levels or so for a new weapon. I'm one level away from my next big powerspike.... a templar mace i got for 1 exalt that has more than double the damage of my current forge maul... its gonna be sick.
