Exalt Orbs/ Crafting
IDK if I am just ultra , omega unlucky , or exalt droops are just way , way to rare, I am at ACT 3 with my main character I have experimented with like 8 other characters and all I got in this time is like 17 exalt orbs.
How are you supposed to craft anything with it .
Sure you get your Transmutation and Augmentation orbs, but even if you manage to get somewhat decent 2 modifiers you are left with almost no crafting materials to actually try to get something that is worth equipping as there is no way I I am not going to equip 2 modifier item, even if it has good modifiers.
I have seen people trading items for 300+ exalts, where do they even get them , do they start to droop like candy at some point or what is this bs.

I am confused where all these people come from with advices of crafting new gear every 10 levels , there is no way it is possible to afford , even with me saving them all up for all this time, from multiple characters at best I could upgrade 4 pieces and that is if I am lucky to actually get right modifiers from exalts.

It's actually very simple.
act 1-3 u don't craft with them.
At act 4 (or whatever u wanna call it) You use them to buy weapon + amulet from the website.
At end of act 6 u use them to buy resistance gear from the website.
At lategame u can use them to craft (around level 80) cous they drop often enough

You don't really need to upgrade your gear that often in the campaign, especially once you get to cruel since it will be much easier due to your build being more developed.

During campaign I remember constantly moving items around so slamming wasn't really needed. If you don't trade you can probably use them on items with good odds, for example open prefixes on weapons if you'll utilise the added phys/ele.

Most of my gear is still from ACT 1 , only good droops I get are for other classes and builds.

unless you're ssf, I wouldn't try to spend them before cruel difficulty. best bet for gear early on is to check all the vendors every level, then maybe spend an exalt on an already good piece of gear if you find / buy it.

I found exalts drop more frequently later in the campaign / in maps.

A good way to get them earlier is to pick up and salvage anything with slots or quality, save the materials you get, then trade for exalts on the currency exchange as soon as you unlock it.

Plus, depending on your build and gear, you might not need to upgrade for quite a while. When i finished act 3 cruel, my highest level piece of gear was item level 26
