POE 2 is.... kind of boring
It's missing a lot I get that, but it just feels like an upgraded downgrade of POE 1. I'm not blown away with the end game at all and the skill gems in the game are boring and to be honest not inspiring. I know they'll probably fix it. I just find myself not wanting to play anymore at the moment.

If it's boring for you guys, no problem at all. Switch to another game.
Who could've thought that doing the same over and over again isn't fun for you ?

I love the mapping endgame.

Really!? For me it's basically the best ARPG I've ever played, particularly because it brings manual skills into the mix which can even compensate for a subpar build to a degree and that is absolutely fantastic. Tbh, ever since I played my first ARPG (which was Diablo 1), this is what I always hoped for in an ARPG - what I got instead was a spread sheet simulator with a graphical interface. This is actually the first "good" ARPG I've played and that includes Diablo 2, btw.

I find it wild that people (not the OP but others in this thread) are pumping to end game maps, then finding out the issues that, at this point are widely reported. Are in fact true and getting pissy about it,

Like take your time level a bunch of toons, chill in the campaign. Nothing we earn now is of value anyway as it will end up in standard.

I'm just havin fun for what it is atm, if i dont enjoy endgame i'll wait for leagues and more content and go back to finishing my gigantic steam backlog lol.

poe 1 was REALLY boring for me especially at end game. PoE 2 is much more interesting and fun and it's not even done yet.,

It's fine that the game isn't perfect right now. I stopped playing after the CoX changes ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my ignite build. Just come back later. The game's not going anywhere.

Same to me as well. Best ARPG before this: Diablo 2. Now POE2.

This is my opinion and only concerns me so hopefull the POE2 positivity squad can chill a bit ....I really wanted to love PoE 2, but honestly, it’s been a huge letdown. The game feels so boring, with the massive map sizes, the random one shots, and the frustrating endgame design just killing the vibe. And don’t even get me started on the build disparity. It’s ridiculous. I’ve played four builds in the endgame, and it’s like two completely different games. Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder or Lightning Conduit Stormweaver lets you practically one shot pinnacle bosses on max difficulty with basic gear. Slam Warrior or Gas Arrow Deadeye is absolute pain and feels like a waste of time.

Sure, it’s early access, but my faith in GGG is fading fast. They’ve been regressing in so many ways, it’s hard to believe they’ll fix Skills or interactions without gutting them completely on the process besides the new gem system is a total downgrade. Crafting is not even worth it. It’s so barebones that if you’re dumb enough to waste your currency on it instead of just trading for items, you’re shooting yourself in the foot. And armor scaling is absolute garbage. It’s somehow worse than PoE 1, completely outclassed by phys shifting and energy shield. What’s even the point?

Then there are the pinnacle bosses. Unless you’re in the top 5 percent with cracked gear and have 30 plus hours a week to grind, you’re screwed. Good luck surviving without getting one shot and wasting your fragments. Farming fragments for days, just to sell them or pay for a carry, is depressing. Trials are no better. Sure, I managed them, but for an average player with 10 to 15 hours a week, they’re toast. And wasn’t this game supposed to be more accessible? GGG marketed it like it would be, but reality says otherwise.

I’m trying to love the game, but it’s just rough, so rough. In its current state, it’s really hard to enjoy. Honestly, I hope PoE 1 gets some facelifting on the next year and a graphics upgrade as both games are on the same engine, It feels like the better game IMHO and so everyone can be satisfied . At least it’s not pretending to be something it’s not. Low key, I get what Rod Fergusson meant with his tweet. PoE 2 feels like it’s moving away from being a Diablo style ARPG into some weird mix of Elden Ring and a clunky, boring PoE 1. It’s not progress, it’s regression.

You end up just using one skill that is easy to scale.

The game goes from being challenging combo oriented.. dark souls esque slow paced game.

Into PoE 1 lol. Regular braindead lootfarm.

You get 1000000% boosted attack speed in endgame and scale up one skill and go blasting. Bosses die so fast.

The game got easier.. It makes no sense.

The end game was lifted right from POE1 without many changes, it will be changed and balanced during EA, this is its most basic and unbalanced version you are ever likely to see it in

How long it takes you to do a map with a build that you believe the maps are too large? The issue is lack of choice for endgame mapping options. Most maps feel small for my current build but I am not doing tier 15.

I agree, it is pretty boring especially as a melee class, probably just going to stick with Diablo 4, Last Epoch and Path of Exile 1.

Yeah, they can fix the punishment part easily.

idk about the attack speed stuff....

They need to buff boss HP I guess to accomodate... but then people will just complain that it's back to dark souls level.

Lose-lose XD.

Maybe there's sort of a clash of audiences here.

Depending on the build, but with the top two I mentioned, I can clear maps (16-18) in about 2 to 4 minutes, which is relatively fast. What really annoys me, though, is the map size and how many nooks and crannies I have to explore, plus all the backtracking. For instance, I’d be less annoyed if I didn’t have to chain kill mobs just to make the skulls appear and had another completion condition. I much prefer the old PoE 1 map design where every map had a clear boss to fight.

Alternatively, if we had more mob density, it wouldn’t feel as bad. As it stands now, the maps feel way too big and empty, like there’s a ton of wasted space that just drags out the gameplay unnecessarily.
