1st Act is the easiest one. Just don't play melee and learn patterns.

I'm playing with Grenade Mercenary. And I played easily until that boss. Dunno I tried like 8 times but no luck.

Mixture of gas grenades and explosive grenades. Make sure your gear is all up to level. Use ice resistance. Stay as far away as possible and learn his patterns... The part where he does the circle of fog and calls the wolves, spam gas grenades and explosive grenade's and roll like crazy. Make sure all your gems are leveled up as far as you can as well.

If you had no issues before, consider playing safer and try not get hit.
Also, might take a look at your build.

I will repeat what others said, get your ice resist up to at least 50%. Also depending on your gem load out, if you are monk or archer, use your skills that allows your character to jump back or allow increase movement. Enemy AoE is really OP due to the fact dodge and evade doesn't work against it.

Merc works just fine, Max out Physical Damage build is shown at end of video + equipment. All items found in Act 1.

Act 1 boss is not difficult and if you need handhold to bypass you might aswell just join an "Act 2" party and do entire act in co-op cause Hyena will beat your ass like Hulk did to Loki.

One of the earlier quests gives you 3 options

One of the earlier bosses drops a head that can be consumed for 10% cold res

You can farm additional stuff from mobs.
