Trials are ridiculously overtuned
So who are they made for? The general game is pretty easy, you have the campaign that is fun and sometimes a bit challenging, then all of the sudden you have a RIDICULOUS punishing difficulty spike through the stupid trials.

I don't care if it's Trials of Chaos or Trials of Sekhmet, they are all way to hard considering how easy the rest of the game is.

It's just REALLY bad game design to have spiking difficulties like that. They feel like a seperate game, designed by a person who wanted some form of clout/promotion within the company.

They probably took inspiration from popular things like older poe league combine with slay the spire roguelike or faster than like and think it is going to be fun. It probably is for a few time if they make it faster and remove that honour system.

It's not just the honour system, Trial of Chaos is the same crap.

Especially when you fight against Uxmal you have like 2 secs to attack. These trials will be a dealbreaker for alot of people and they will quit while fans of POE2 will play the game regardless.

I think its ok that these trials exist as an option, but i dont like that they are tied to progression.

you cant say that out loud. the fanbois dont like it

It's definitely punishing for some builds, my chaos witch passed it with a sliver of honour left and that was even with filling it back up whilst my bow merc just strolled through and only got hit twice.

Let's be honest, nobody would do them if the reward wasn't ascension points or something very rewarding like + spirit or sth.

You're right. The standard rewards pretty much suck. Done quite a few 10 round ultimatums cause they are almost afkable and don't think I've picked up a single one of the corrupted items. You get 3-4 souls of which like 2 types are worth a damn and a fragment. Trial master you either get super lucky and hit the jackpot or take a loss on the fragments.

And another is filtered by based trials

Except they will be nerfed at most by august. I predicted the same with the Sekhmet trials and it's gonna be done again.

POE2 devs claim artistic integrity, but artistic integrity doesn't hold up when your project has to feed 100+ employees.

Were they really that hard? I breezed thru mine and got my Storm sorc going. Super fun to see crit sorc build pop off.

I'm on totem warrior and they're a slog. as I said the dumb chimaera just flies 24/7 and the whirlwind boss just starts oneshotting you with the random whirlwinds. Chimaera is inexcusably bad game design and the whirlwind dude would be excusable if we had a checkpoint system.

This game has a TON of different builds, you can't expect everybody to be on the same page, the game has been pisseasy on my witch for example.

Also you're missing the point.

The trials are a ridiculous difficulty spike that's going to piss a ton of people off for no gain.

People won't be bragging about beating an ARPG where you can outstat bosses heavily a year later.
