Spelling error when creating Account to login.

Hii.
I just purchased the game, and justn ow got to the main menu.
I had to create a steam log in, and accidentally typed my account name incorrectly with spelling errors.
It told me there was an error, which i understood. went back too the main menu, tried logging in again, but i can no longer enter an account name. It gave me error failed, so i closed the game, relaunched the game, and clicking on the login button, it takes me straight too the character selection screen.

I wish to cancel the account name i enterred, which had spelling mistakes, and re-enter my accurate account login.

I fear if i dont do this now, that something may happen in the future, upon verifying my account.

anyone here had this issue?
how do i fix it?

this is terrible.... i havent even played the game yet, and found a problem where i cannot re-enter my steam account username.

U name your character ingame anyway, so the name u chose so far doesn't matter as it wont ever show up. For the trade website and the main website u can just login with steam.

What im worried about, is if i need to verify my steam account in the future, for whatever reason.
Knowing ive mispronounced my account username, and just going ahead to play the game, it could crop up, later somehow. So i dont wish to create a character and lose my progress for this reason.

Ive done a complete uninstall, and now reinstalling, so i hope i can re enter my correct steam account username, to login.


Having had a quick browse on google, This is a huge issue. Like very huge.
Apparently theres people who cannot unlink other accounts aswell.

My issue should never have been a thing.. there should be an option to unlink/re-link a steam account.
Something so small as an exciting player to mispronounce their steam account username, and then end up in this situation.

Yes i can go and play the game if i want, as it allows me, but i dont wish to continue in fear of any future issues.
best to get this fixed now, before i go any further.

GGG has to manually unlink a steam account. You really should have paid more attention - essentially you created a new account with the misspelling that is tied to your steam account.

Iirc if youve already activated your key on your intended account, you can download the standalone client and still play.

Paid more attention, yes, i should have, however, when youre excited and type as quick as i do, things happen.
All it needed was a confirmation yes or no.
I only realised as i pressed enter.

ive contacted them via email, so i just got to hope i get a reply.
Reading the forums, and reddit, and varies other google articles, apparently they dont reply, or its just a bot.
So it looks like ive f'd up my game before i even started. lol.

Ive just had to find another solution to another issue, given the game had Black bars eachside of the screen, with ultrawides..
Just solved that issue with a fix.

I REALLY Wish this stuff would be crystal clear from youtubers and the dev's, because this stuff can discourage people from buying, and playing.
Or in my case, to be careful. lol
