Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

did the boss fights seem to get insanely streneous really fast?
I play warrior class and loved poe 2 for the first ~20 hours. The boss fights could be hard but were fun at first. Now it feels like they're damage sponges out of nowhere. For me it started with zalmarath's fight. the next couple boss fights i did jsut seem to require me to fight someone who has at least 100,000 HP and i don't get ♥♥♥♥ all for gear upgrades. am i the only one experiencing this? My loot drops are garbage 9/10 times, the bosses aren't necessarily too hard, they're just absurdly tanky, and it feels like no matter how many upgrades i get in the skill tree my performance doesn't improve

is the game just garbage or do i need to waste my 20s trying to optimize my build

There is one thing you have to realize and that it's this game hates tanky characters. Damage heavy glass cannon with just enough stuff to survive the impossible to avoid things from trash is what it wants, otherwise you will optimize for tank and die in one-hit, and if not that, then the honor system for trials where you can't get hit at all.

Boss design/Player Character build wise, yes. It is. It's end-of-service D3 tiers of bad.

Yeah I went from struggling with bosses early on to not being able to kill them at all. Waiting for balance patches.

Ironically the end game I think its Warriors that are the ones that melt Pinnacle bosses within 10 seconds. The ones at lvl 90 and such.

This game is very build heavy, just like Diablo4 very build heavy.
If you don't have the right build setup as in skills and using the right weapon modifers and what not, you aint gonna be doing much. And everything is going to feel like a sponge.

As for tip of advice.
Open your skill window, when you decide on to use or not to use an item, watch the dps of whatever your using. Is the dps better or worse.

ex. if your using totems, your weapon dmg does not matter, +skills is how to make totems hit harder.

Also,
boss fights like Rattlecage which pretty much chases you if your ranged player so you just run away and its easy fight, lots of bosses are very tough against melee, but ranged players they don't have any tough things to do deal with. So bad build PLUS bosses are very good at making life HELL for melee, thats a bad combo I see your frustration.

the first few weren't even that hard to me. Even the first few bosses i encountered in Act 2 weren't too hard. But then i got to the caravan bosses and now im just not playing until they balance the bosses out bc jfc they have too much health

Bosses are kinda manageble (if you dont mind repeating same bosses over and over) but that trial mechanic with 1-time honor HP for all rooms ♥♥♥♥... that is pure foul. Really disappointed with that.

It only gets worse. The bosses are massive sponges. I like my ARPG bosses having health to actually stick around but they have way too much.
Ironically mapping goes right back to too little. At least balance like this is easily fixable. It's the core mechanics that are a problem.

if they change the sponginess of the bosses then i'll be perfectly fine. I know people have problems with the mechanics of the game, but im not smart enough to recognize them lol
