Why is the trading market so garbage?

I decided to do an experiment and sit for an hour while watching a podcast just whispering people posting a unique item I am interested in. I probably sent around 150 whispers and I got 4 responses. 2 from people telling me the item was gone already, and 2 from the same guy who kept listing the same item over and over again that he would sell me the item for significantly more than he listed it on the trade site.

I ignored him but every subsequent time he listed the item on the site it popped up fresh for me. Why bother with a system so hostile to consumers? GGG should balance the scales and allow buyers to rate their sellers (or those that pretend to be sellers but are not) so we can have that as a filter as well.

Obviously these sellers are not associated with GGG however this system reflects very poorly on them because it appears to enable scammers which after an hour of dedicated searching I'm borderline convinced if someone had responded and invited me to come make the exchange it would have been a scam attempt.

The people raising the price probably realized their price was too low since they got lots of whispers.

or yeah, could also just be greedy bastards that raise it until they stop getting any whispers =p

The people kept reposting it at the same price and tried to change it in the whisper. It wasn't a matter of them realizing they were selling too low. Literally saw one guy repost the same item 15 times and raise the price from 1 divine to 1 divine 40 exalts twice in whispers at which point I put him on the ignore list. He was clearly just fishing for someone willing to pay his insane price.

There was already a currency bug where divines dropped left and right so prices are stupid allready. GGG didn't add an AH to the game and still use the stupid solution in place. It's a joke and full of bots to make it even more bad.

It's humans. Why are humans so garbage. Not trading. Proper trading when you get decent people is fun. With a lot of players you get a lot of pieces of .

The time for 1ex trades has long past and people don't want to stop mapping for it when they could just walk over to the next rare enemy and get 1ex from that.

I said what the pricing was in my post if you had bothered to read it.

edit - that came across a little more aggressive than intended. I'm not looking for 1ex items though. This was 1div of varying quality levels.

Yeah what you are dealing with is very annoying. Ignoring him was the best option.
