terrible game performance

Unfortunately the performance of this game is currently terrible. The game stutters so much. Even when I put the settings on low, it still sucks. Diablo 4 looks visually much better and yet runs beautifully smooth on my pc, without any glitches. How is this possible? I was really looking forward to Path of exile 2, but refund is the only solution at the moment. :((

It didn't run great for me either until I configured the settings. I have an AMD card so it took me a few hours of reading and tweeking to get stability now I hold 100-120 steady FPS easy even with allot on screen! before it was all over the place
There are lots of settings and allot of shader and resolution up-scaling and down scaling options. So instead of promoting drama here, you can actually fix it yourself!

Tweak it, as there are a lot of options.

If you still have issues, please don't complain, but provide feedback to GGG about your system spec, what you tried, the effect it had (or didn't have).


Please don't create threads just ranting and complaining about the game.

i updated drivers and now get 30 FPS spamming spark. meanwhile spamming quill volley on D4 with more mobs on the screen i maintain 120 FPS.

for starters try switching between DX12 and vulkan.(amd should work better with vulkan) unless u play on a HDD there shouldnt be any stuttering. i believe the game preloads shaders on first launch or driver swap to prevent these stutters. but if not, most stutters should be a 1 time thing for anything rendered for the first time. after that it should be smooth, even after relaunching the game (unless u update your drivers which resets this whole process)

50 FPS is not bad! thats very well manageable! dropping below 30 is definitely bad! Also what FPS counter are you going off of? reason I ask my AMD software reads 160 but steams read 120! so you maybe getting much lower frames than whats being displayed!

Thanks for the advice guys, under 60 fps is something i would definitely call it bad. At Chimera boss the fps went around 30. I dont think the graphics of the game justify these numbers and i dont think there is something wrong with my pc since i dont have any issue with any other game. Only thing that works is enabling super resolution from amd driver to lower the resolution from 2k to hd
