Trial of Sekema - am I missing the something?

I play as a Melee character. I have about 700 honor at level 24.
This has been my 7th attempt now and I finally made it to the boss, just for him to quickly end me due to honor constraints.

This has been the most unfun experience I have had in ARPG Games. Any tips on how to make it less painful? Aside from starting a fresh character who is not melee based.

How do I get 5000 Honour?

Get honor resist relics. The cap is 75%. Get +max honour relics and you should have not much problems. Chose room wisely to not get bad afflictions. And last boss on first floor is cakewalk, hes very slow and all he does is easy to dodge. If you get to the boss, you shouldnt lose.

How do I get 5000 Honour?

Higher lvl gives higher honor pool. And +max honor relics/boons exists.

I got to him once with 199 honor left. He hit me once, 99 Honor. Second hit was GG. Thats when I quit and made this post.

Honor is equal to your hp + es

A few tips that I can give,

Avoid affliction or debuff in favor of anything. When you step in, you need to ask yourself are you farming or are you ascending. If you are ascending those sacred water or gold key are completely useless if you will get hit by 0 armor affliction. So the priority is to select places where there is nothing going on.

Escape trial are deadly, whether you are melee or range, if you are not good at trap room, avoid these. These things are deadly in 2nd floor and above.

Stack honour resistance. This is your most important resist here in Sekhem dont bother attempting 3rd ascendancy until you cap this.

As for the fourth ascendancy, i will not bother attempting it if my movement speed sucks and my dps still sucks.

Maximise your dps, sounds stupid but the best chance of winning against the boss is to kill them before they able to do anything.

I thought when they gave me the quest for the first time that was when I was supposed to start attempting it. Not dozens of hours of farming later. But I will farm some more. I also feel like my build absolutely sucks but it's a learning curve.

So try again. First ascendency comes from quest item which dont get consumed so you can repeat it over and over. The first boss is REALY easy, easier than 95% of campaign bosses. You got HUGE arena and boss is realy slow and telegraphing everything like 15 years ahead. The only trap might be attacking him right when he spawns as he likes to open up with 2 aoe ground smashes that could easily hit you if you are not prepared for them.

Or you can just skip it and go for ultimatum in next act, but you might get even worse boss. Sanctum has always same bosses, ultimatum has random. The question is, how much impactfull is your ascendency, some might get big boost from first 2 points, some dont rly need it until they got 4 points to spend.

try repec pasives for dps and try find safe skill that have some range . i was forced to respec against first act boss too

You are going to need a lot relics that boost your maximum honor and honor resistance.

Try to learn some mechanics first.You have got to get some relics or else it's going to be a nightmare.

Relics can be looted and bought inside the trial ,so you are going to farm that's quite a lot.
At first I suggest you try to finish at least one time trial first.

Keep up some sacred water ,you can use it to buy some relics at the end of trial.
Actually if you failed you still be able to grab some relics inside the trial as well.

At first it's quite annoying but don't rush until you have high enough honor and resistance.
