The market is part of the game. RMT is not allowed. GGG needs to do a little policing. That's all.

Indeed they should, however imo the whole trading system is ♥♥♥♥.

So the rmt can infest it driving it to complete obscurity, wouldn't change my enjoyment nor the friends I play the game with either.

Game is completely playable and enjoyable with friends with never touching that ♥♥♥♥ system they call trading.

RMT always breaks any online game with some kind of trading, no dev can stop this.

However if this bothers you, good news, the game has a ssf(solo self found) mode that doesn't have trading. By playing this mode you can brag to all your friends how you didn't rmt to win, granted you don't have to rmt on the normal server either to succeed.

Regardless I wish you much enjoyment on the ssf mode.

Nonsense they could kill this immediately. They seem to have no interest in this. They took in that guy, the 3rd largest stakeholder in GGG that is also known for running RMT sites under the guise of learning how to fight against RMT. Yet all their decisions seem pulled right out of gotcha games. Endless RNG, backwards progression and dead progression unless you engage with the trading site that is utterly controlled by RMT. What exactly did the guy contribute to make it harder for RMT websites, it seems the end game, the progression the trade site are made to be as RMT friendly as possible. Here is an idea. Kill the website, the literal currency laundering operation, limit trading to items droped during party run with the party members, or limit how many items an account can post at a time, or during a day. Do SOMETHING instead of just handing it over the trading website to RMT sites and then balancing the game around the trading site. No attempts to kill the incentives, no attempt to take back the trading website from bots. As far as i am concerned there is no endgame. Play the campaign .avoid the trading site and then quit the game. Endgame is not worth it. People have their fan boy googles on, something really stinks at GGG, things just don't add up (still not playing D4 either way)

Gaming is in a dumpster fire because they are being run by talentless hacks that were too scummy to work in the banking system. Game studios think they don't even have to convince you to buy their game anymore, all their focus is on is how to make maximum profit off you. When people start going, you know what, why should i even buy your game, studios freak the hell out. I thought we had them hooked, how can they say no to us. You listen how the people making decisions speak about gamers now, it's like they are running a psy ops against us. This does not relate to GGG they are hardly in line with the gaming industry. They are running their own thing

While RMT certainly affects the market in a big way, that is the same for every single game out there with an economy. The main reason why high-end gear is so expensive is people spamming breaches with lots of rarity on their gear, dropping lots of exalts every map, making them almost worthless, thus shifting the main currency for high end gear for divines.

Entry level gear is cheaper than ever, though, as magic find drops a lot of it. You can get some pretty solid pieces of gear for 5-20 exalts each. You can gear out a character with capped resistances, close to capped chaos and a respectable weapon for fairly cheap.

It's not bots, it's divines being weighted too low by the trading site. Filter for exalts and you will find a lot of cheap and good gear.

You can get some good gear for an exalt each, too. The issue with buying 1 ex gear is that you might get a response per 20 message or so.

He is either not sorting by exalts and getting baited by the 1 divine item listing or he is just looking at high end gear, which is more expensive now.

Getting solid starter gear is easier than ever now, it's just a lot harder to min-max your character, as the top end gear is reserved for people with a good amount of rarity and clear speed (stormweavers instantly blinking around the map with no CD using a 100 div+ body armor).

This is a multi-million dollar game for them, so much so that even drug cartels have picked it up as a side hustle. Until people, in general, feel the need to NOT cheat in games, and pay someone else to play it for them, this will never end.

Just kill the trade site. Problem solved. Or give SSF better rates than normal league problem solved. Gimme a break, they want to funnel you into the RMT sites. I realized this by pure observation but i did google to see if there is any connection between RMT sites and GGG and apparently there are quite a bit. The 3rd largest stock holder at GGG runs RMT sites, definitely not a coincidence. If i knew this before paying for EA i would have never done it. This is just scummy beyond belief, but i never played POE 1 except a little bit so i was not aware of the controversy that surrounds GGG and RMT websites. It's a shame too. I would have easily payed 60$ for this game if it wasn't P2W, and it is. It is designed around the trading site that is controlled by RMT bots. Diablo immortals is also f2p. If 500 dollar cosmetic packs are not enough for GGG they should have switched to a real payment system instead of allowing this P2W nonsense to control game economy. I have basically been clearing maps with pretty much all gear I've picked up and modified....the only gear i've gotten from trade are my boots and they are worse than pretty much any rares with movement speed since the bones of Ullr(4 Exalted orbs btw) are pretty much only for a bigger army and that's more fun for me. It actually doesn't take much to clear t16 maps once you get res capped. Anyone making up bs that they can't do the endgame without trading is just terrible at the game lmao.
