That said, I had the same issue on my (admittedly bad at the time) minion build. I was able to get it done by going all in on arsonists + firewall + raging spirits. The arsonists throwing through the firewall was able to damage him while he is in the molten metal and I ended up winning with tons of time to spare.
Despair hex with skill gem that dot's for 30% of your int
Essence drain and contagion combo to get that additional dot
Dark effigy totem that will attack based off chaos afflictions above
Archer poison gas with corrosion armor helps here.
I had infernalist pup that also contributes his ignite dot for 20% of his Max HP I believe
I beat the forge master with roughly 40% of the arena still clear of lava.
Focus on getting your spell damage up through equips will help tremendously as well. Also chaos damage passives if you have been ignoring those.
