Does energy shield get affected by your armor?
If you have higher armor, you have a tougher energy shield?

Armor reduces the physical dmg you take. This obviously doesn't care about how you take dmg, whether you tank it with your life, your energy shield or even with your mana.

There is a passive node giving you a shield increase for your armor, but I can't recall if it's a witch ascendancy or "normal" passive.

Armour is physical resistance, similar to the elemental resistance you build to avoid elemental damage.

So energy shield is like basic life? no damage reduction on it?

Thats a good question, in the poe wiki they talk about 'reducing incoming damage' which, I would say, always means the damage is reduced before the hit actually hits you.

"Armour is a defence that provides damage reduction to incoming physical damage from spells and attacks."

Yes, physical mitigation (armor) and resistances are applied before Energy Shield. At least if it followes the PoE1 formula.
You'd think this would make it much stronger than armor or evasion, but you can't really have all three, right? If you equip pieces with energy shield, they won't have armor or evasion on them. If they do, it's half-n-half anyway.

Also, chaos damage (poison for example) bypasses ES.

There might be changes to how it works between the games, so take this with a grain of salt. But most other things work the same way.

There is a Perk for it and it's Called Adamant Recovery. ( Increases and Reductions of Armour also apply to Energy Shield. this also reduces the recharge rate by 40% )

So yes you can get Energy shield to stack armour.

They are different things, but some armor pieces have both. It will say so on the item.
