Just cannot get more than 30-40 FPS

My PC is getting on a bit, but I should definitely be able to find a setting that gives me more than 40 FPS. As it is, though, I can play at 2450x1440 with settings mostly on high and get 30-40 FPS, but absolutely nothing can get my framerate higher, no matter how much I lower the resolution or change the settings or mess around with different options. I've tried the different renderers, I've tried everything I know of, but nothing works.

The first PoE was often the same way, but with that one at least it would seemingly randomly fix itself and give me a decent frame rate.

Any ideas what I can do? Could it be to do with shaders compiling? I know that caused issues with me for PoE1 too. Anyone had a similar issue and found a solution?

Played about 30 hours just fine, but today get the same. Idk why this happens. I tried almost everything. Clear cache, reinstall drivers... switching to dx11 helped get over 100 fps but with horrible drops to 20-30

This just started happening to me tonight as well, but I'm stuck at 20fps. I was previously running the game at 120fps with no dips or problems. I'm guessing something from the patch messed things up.

are you sure both frame cap options are turned off?

Since the Thursday patch its not your Hardware that is causing the FPS drops it's Packet Loss which is causing it.

aka sending your information to the servers and sending it back to you.

If you hit F1 in game and watch the graphs and start spamming your abilities you will notice that the Green Bar will have spikes and you will notice that each time these Spikes happen you will do some crazy stuff aka Saturating then all of a sudden everything is in fast forward state.

Something in Thursday patch created a connection issue or B because all the devs are having their Christmas holiday ( which is well deserved ) they don't have devs working to keep the connections optimised.
