If you have stuff like lightning warp they will immediately aim lock to you still and with a super tanky build I have rn it still kills me in 1 sec (for reference i can tank multiple hits from any boss and any mob in the game, except forsaken miners, and still be over half health) and the beam is basically half a screen long so you cant escape it. Also on some maps their beam can go through objects so you might not be able to cast things at them but they can hit you with the aimbot beam that last 10 seconds or w/e
Don't try to roll out of it, instead roll, run, hide behind a wall.
This.
It goes for many other similar ranged beam and channel attacks etc. We all learned this the hard way in PoE1 with various boss fights and by the point of Sun Priests, you should know in PoE2. :)
Windmill physics essentially.
The outer tip of the rotation moves a lot faster than the centre of the rotation. The closer you are to the outer tip the faster you need to move to keep ahead of it. The closer you are to the centre the easier is is to keep ahead of the rotation because it's slower.
Keep that in mind for any game mechanic in any genre that uses rotating damage . Or when you find yourself in real life trying to keep ahead of a dreaded water sprinkler. Understanding physics saves lives.
Or get 90% max fire resistance. :D
Or slow your enemies down with slows/chill so their rotation speed is so slow it doesn't matter. :p
Edit:
Or stand behind a wall/pillar as mentioned too. :) :)
Or "Raise Shield" ability which is great vs. beam attacks.
Dori taught you to keep on moving.
Characters from many player's childhood that taught you what you need to know about action gaming.
But hey, now im doing an SSF ranger, who knows maybe ill notice them.
PS: how are your resistances ?
