Switch weapon problem

Hello I have a problem I have correctly assigned my gem skills that I want to use with tear number and the gem skills that I want to use with tear number two.

However, when I change weapons to number 2, my character automatically switches back to weapon number 1 as in this video. I've done everything, there's nothing to do, he goes back to weapon number one.

Please help me if you can.

did you assign the skill to your weapon set/slot ?

click on the little arrow next to your skills DPS numbers and then at the bottom -> weapon set use I & II ?

You have to assign the skills to the weapon you want to be holding when using them. There is no need to manually switch weapon sets in combat if you assign each skill to the weapon set you want to use. It should automatically switch when you use the associated skill.

It's working. You assigned the ammo skill to set 2. But you don't fire with the ammo skill using crossbows. When you use the ammo skill it swaps to weapon 2 to reload, then back to weapon 1 when you fire. Firing is it's own skill you have to assign.

Ok so I was a little off with what I said before. Here's step by step how to do it, confirmed on my own mercenary just now. In addition to assigning the ammunition gem to the crossbow you want it to fire from do the following.

Open skill bind menu. Click on a slot on your skill bar. Select "Crossbow Shot". In my example case I have 2 of them to select from, as I have both fragmentation and permafrost rounds slotted. When I put them on my bar and activate them, it both loads and fires that type of ammunition, using the crossbow you have the ammunition skill gem assigned to.
