Random Crashes
I seem to be getting a lot of crashes. Usually after an hour of playing and when I load the map or change areas. The game freezes for a few seconds then closes, there are no logs created from this. I have tried a few tweaks in steam like loading with no logos, etc...not sure if this is a common issue.

Yeah, I have the same issue, 4080-7800x3d. The worst part is during Trial of chaos, and it frustrates me a lot. But this happens when you purchase unfinished games, and I lack patience. You sense something is off, yet you continue playing, and the seller doesn’t care about your experience, regardless of whether their product is good or bad. It's amusing that I'm writing this while my game is freezing; money holds more significance than reputation and everything else. This is the reality of the world we inhabit today. It doesn't matter if it's complete; just create something and sell it.

Ill give the overlay option a shot! I was getting random bluescreens last week (just upgraded my rig) so I was kinda hoping it was just on my end lol.

Gave up on this game. Maybe in another month I will come back and see if the crashing issues been address.

This worked for me, played for a few hours without any crashes. Hopefully it stays fixed. Thanks for the solid tip!

Have you had any more crashes since?

My crashes have returned following 3 days of fun, so now I'm attempting to play the game outside of Steam to test it!

I was experiencing random crashes on POE2 during the loading screens intermittently, my machine would crash and id have to power off and on to get it to work again.

mainly when doing COOP the game would crash when travelling back to camp or porting back to a location.

I spent a few hours trying different settings etc.
I'm on the latest Win11 updates, I updated my BIOS to the latest firmware yesterday and I've not had a single crash yet. not saying this is a fix as ill be stress testing over the next few days. but so far so good,

Also worth playing in windowed mode to help assess this issues, curious to know how everyone else is getting on.

Last night's crashes were really frustrating; they were unbelievable.
Each time I tried to load my character, the game would crash, and after that, it would work once before crashing again. I strongly suspect the issue lies with the server since they keep kicking us out.
Your Windows and hardware are fine, so there's no need to change anything—doing so is just a placebo. You will experience the same crashes again.
I've been fixing computers for 25 years, and I've never encountered anything like this!

has anyone tried playing over there launcher maybe its a steam problem? Or switching to Vulcan instead of DX12? Vulcan seems to run really fine for most ppl

I strongly believe that the disconnects from the game aren't crashes but rather server-related kicks. It happens consistently on weekends or after 6 PM. Yesterday and earlier today, the game was functioning flawlessly, but now it closes unexpectedly with no error message. I've tried both the Steam version and the launcher version, and they both have the same issue. My internet connection is excellent—really fast—which leads me to think this is a server problem. There’s no queue time, so it seems they just kick you out!

Or maybe I'm mistaken, but if so, why doesn't it occur every day or every hour?

I switched to vulkan, and have had only 2 random crashes over the past week.
