River Hag drowning
Figured I'd post. Although this is mainly a hardcore/warrior gripe, the river hag (white, regular mob) bubble to snare and drown almost instantly killing your character NEEDS to be altered. Make it drain health first or something, just feel as it is now is a horrible mechanic. Can be lvl 43 with 75% armor, 65% block, max res, 1.6k life... little regular mob comes along and poof drown. Sigh.

This is the worst mechanic ive ever encountered, there is barely any warning for this, and it should drain life, this has got to be the worse part of the game, no mob should have a insta kill, you start the game by travelling who knows how long knocked out floating down a river after jumping 30 feet into a pitch black body of water, and your telling me 3 seconds in a water bubble just insta kills 2k hp? needs to be fixed

You know that you can just roll out of it, right?

I've had it happen while I was caught in animations, like interacting with levers and whatnot.

Kill the mobs maybe??? They're there to be scary, they're there to kill you, try doing things that get you killed less like pulling on levers before you even deal with the mobs lol.

HEY, did you know its 2025? animation lock nowadays is just bad programming. no amount of player blame will change that.

Broken mob. Needs to be nerfed.

Bunch of copers acting like you can't get BSed by a combination of many water hags and other enemies/skills blocking you into it. This is likely the most BS enemy in the game.

Honestly, I've been playing Monk on hardcore and everytime I died it was due to lack of skill or defenses from my part. I've redone the character, improved my weak points and went beyond. It was very satisfying.

But dying to the Water Hag just made me extremely sad. I saw the bubble and everytime it went on top of me I tought 'thats a massive slow, it is dangerous to stay on top'.

But one time I was against one hag, solo, and she cast the bubble. I could kill her with the slow, it would make no difference, since she couldnt kill me. And, suddenly, BAM, instakill.

I had no idea. My defenses were capped, my Energy Shield way higher than the necessary, because I was playing smart, safe, and taking my time. Suddenly this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of game design happens.

No fun at all.

And for the person that said 'it is obvious that you are being drowned', no it is not. I understood it as a massive slow and I was fine with that. You can't guess that if you stay 3 seconds on top of it you are going to get insta killed.

What in the actual hell. I just spent so many hours leveling up my hardcore character and playing skillfully, only to die to some random ass mechanic that had no clear indication of the danger and unrealistic 2-3 "drowning" effect. How the hell can you drown in 2-3 seconds in any world we know of or live in? Why can a normal monster 1 shot you regardless of your defenses? Terrible job GGG, absolutely terrible. Whoever designed this is a sadist that doesn't care about it's customers

Look, I would be among the first to call out standing in obvious bad as a "skill issue". The fact remains, however, that this stupid mob has a unique mechanic, counter to the entire design of the rest of the game, and can appear on white mobs. Even the most powerful "one shot" mechanics are not true instant kills with sufficient defensive layering. Why are we giving a trash mob in campaign an instant kill? That's the question here. It's not about how easy or hard it is to deal with. It's a question of "What's the purpose here?" Everything up to that point is "If you do this wrong, it's going to hurt. A lot. Maybe even kill you." It's not, "Get out of this, or die. Instantly."

As a deadeye last night got stunned then almost drowned, scariest experience in this game so far

It doesn't really matter that its a skill issue. I am of the opinion that it is a horrible mechanic and bad design.
Asrei 20 ENE a las 5:26 p. m.
Yea Xersin, my character was like BARELY touching it; I was just on the edge of it and was like.. whatever it's just a slow. Then it was like the server just pressed delete on my character (because it did..). It's heinous putting these obscure instant death mechanics in the game, definitely a "gotcha" mechanic and straight disrespectful to anyone who doesn't know EVERY single detail through "death-spam" or dieing in the game a bunch of times already; what a sadistic approach to the community.
RawMeatDiet 20 ENE a las 5:34 p. m.
Bad design I agree, it has killed some in my guild in HC.

These things are just fun suckingly bad when you encounter 3 at the same time as a melee character.
