Also, you chose to risk it on a Vaal Orb. That was your choice.
I'd love to have a better Sceptre than the one i currently have, But i'm sure as heck not gonna risk a Vaal orb bricking it in hopes of a small upgrade.
That shouldn't even be an option, its frustrating and annoying.
I'm all for challenging gameplay, but over the time annoying things like that are nothing more than punishment for playing, weird and lame they would even add something like this.
I'd say never use them on an item you're currently using. While I don't completely disagree with what you're saying, I think they're just meant for people who are addicted to the gamble aspect and want that perfect item that's ridiculously hard to get.
Just use them for random items you might not need right away but have the possibility to turn out amazing with it, even if it's not for your class.
