If you pay $30 now, not only do you get to play now, you get $30 back in the form of currency to use in the shop. That $30 goes a long way for buying stash space, which is incredibly valuable as you progress. Every $ you spend on a supporter pack, you get back in terms of game currency. And that is because they know it will be free to play. So they arent just taking the money.
The game is fully functional, more polished than most "modern AAA games" even in its current state. Yes, it has some issues, yes, things need to be adjusted, but that is exactly what is happening here.
The game may be free when it launches, but the knowledge that people have right now will be huge. We will get to play every class they have in the game, 6 more are coming before launch, so by the time the game launches, we will already know the balance of classes and just be able to play what we like.
And to answer your point about being testers, go pay $120 for ashes of creation, where the devs literally address you as "glorious testers" when they release a patch, and you will see what it means to pay to be a tester.
However i like to note, that this game had closed beta tests befor EA.
Ah that's what I did not understand, then it's perfectly fine :)
You don't understand my message, I wasn't understanding why they made the testers pay while the players afterward would have a free game.
Now I know they are giving it back in some cash shop currency afterwards, so I understand better, they are simply taking an advance on what players would have paid when the game launches :)
And that#s how you kill a game.
Just look at The Forever Winter that game has 200 players now because you were not allowed by the Fanbois to give feedback to the devs.
It#s not Devs killing the industry it's toxic Fanbois.
You pay to get excited about new contents in week times not in a quarter
You pay because you want to play
Beta tester? Is that how it looks from the point of view of those who couldn't afford $15?
you can't change people with false hate speech. Fans would pay 100 dollars if it is needed its TripleG and they are worth it
yup, i explained that to someone who was on the fence, and they said
"wait, so if I wait for the game to be free, sure I get the game for free, but youre saying I will likely need to buy $30-$40 worth of stash space to make my life easier. So why wouldn't I just pay now, get to play, understand the mechanics, and then never spend another dime."
So yea, you 100% get back the money you spend. literally. I have never heard of a f2p game doing something like that, so I was like, well, why not. And I literally held off spending my $30 worth of coins until like, just before endgame, and when I did I had this lightbulb go off of... ohhh I see now. Having $30 worth of stash space is huge. might be all you ever need. But they just give it to you. It is very much equivilant exchange.
And tbh, I hate.. HATE mtx in game, in any way shape or form. And even to me, once I saw the benefits of buying a few stash tabs, I didn't feel like my money was wasted, since sure, I paid for the game, even went as far as to upgrade my edition, and all the currency I got felt more than fair to me.
