Desperately looking for lag spike fix
I get lag spikes every 30 seconds where my character will freeze, then it will fast forward to where it should be. It's ruining the game for me. I was hoping it was stress from servers but I see that many aren't having this problem while others are. I've NEVER had this issue with countless other games, including poe1.

I'm trying to narrow down the problem but I've tried everything except paying for a damn app called exitlag or using ggg client instead of steam. You name it, i've tried it: diff server, updated router, went into options and changed network type to predictive, etc.

Here are my stats:
4080 super 7800x3d 32gb ram
ISP: 50 down/ 50 up 20ms
Best server: Washington DC 22ms ping. Other servers at least 84 ms ping and much worse

So if you DON'T have this issue, can you share what you have? Do you basically live right next door to server with 5ms ping? 1gb internet? Using the GGG client?

Thanks

Does this happen all the time or only at certain hours for you?

I'm only able to game during what I would assume is peak hours for the server. So I would try other servers that have more latency but would guess that it should still be playable (80ms-120ms), but it's only much worse.

The server I normally log in to started having issues as well since three days ago, but it only happens at night (10 PM - 12 AM), otherwise it's smooth.
There is nothing we can do about it when the problem is the server itself, which is probably overloaded.

I thought it would be server related but others say it's working fine for them. Hopefully you're right...maybe they are playing during off peak hours which is why I posted this, looking for info.

Haven't played in 3 days, zero lag issues.

The only way to know whether this is your network or server issue is to play the game during off-peak hours.

tried that as well.

No, what I meant was to set reflex to disabled. I also had this issue (among others) and I also made sure tripple buffering is set to off. You might have a different source of the issue though.

yeah i knew what you meant. Disabled that, disabled triple buffering. Same results.

It's a long shot then, but I have noticed a difference in ms based on used renderer. I had most success with DX11, have you tried that as well?

I’ve tried Vulcan but not dx-11 yet

When you lag, does the ping temporary spike (press F1 twice)? Like let's say from 22 to 200, then back down. If so, it's your internet losing packages, which results in lag. It's either your ISP or you are on a wireless connection and you should plug in a cable.
