It's already telling that none of the trusted websites sell keys for PoE2.
If you want to know why grey market sellers are bad, just google it.
This thread here is 10 years old, but still holds true.

ggdeals.com is also a good resource even if it also lists grey market sites. Though they add a risk info to it.

Don't put the blame for this situation on GGG or Steam. That's simply the risk when buying from those sites.
And I seem to be sitting on your head. Good thing I dodged.
Kinguin balances on a thin line between being a "marketplace" and a criminal organisation.
Way too many stolen keys people keep ironically self reporting cause these supporter packs are suppose to come with stuff but they end up buying the Steam key and the real account is sold to another person. They end up contacting support and they get revoked.
They're making multiple sales off of one purchase. Real KEY = sell to legit site, Steam KEY = sell to black market. OR worse both are charged back on stolen cards then both are eventually revoked.
Kinguin is like many other grey market sellers. Its technically a legitimate business but they don't sell anything, they facilitate sales of keys between people. Sometimes the person who sells keys will do so fraudulently and they get revoked.
Often grey market sites you can get away with buying keys for niche unpopular games, but for popular trending titles, steer well clear, people will cash in and run.
You’re gonna risk your entire account and game progress for $8?
Just wait and save up a little longer. Like I’m sorry, not trying pick on you cos lower income etc but you know this game will be free to play relatively soon? Hard to emphasize with someone complaining about $8, when youre paying anything for this over just waiting if money is a concern for you. Not like it’s the only game in existence after all.
Not to mention like, you like this game? Like the devs? Okay. Can’t afford $8 more, fair enough. But like if these keys aren’t legit, then you’re effecting GGGs cash flow dude. Cos if it gets revoked, they ain’t any money end of the day. And they gotta pay people to sort this crap out. Just stop lol resist the FOMO xD
the answer is don't buy keys from Kinguin
That right there should help anyone figure it out.
Could not afford the extra $8 to get it from Steam directly? If you can afford the hardware to play games, you can afford the $8...
Kinguin is a grey market seller, they sell other peoples keys, those keys can be fake or limited or bought with illegal cards. Never use key seller sites without knowing the risk
