Thoughts on the WASD controls over the usual click to move controls?

These type of games that play similar to Diablo usually use click to move. Thoughts on using the WASD controls over the more traditional controls? Is it better?

WASD movement is one of my favourite things about Path of Exile 2. I wish they could backport some of this stuff to PoE1 as well, because I don't think I'm going to be able to go back to click-to-move after this.

I would not have been here for over 60 hours had WASD not been an option. Also moving while shooting, even slowly, combined with the dodge roll makes this feel more like a twin stick shooter and I am FULLY on board with that. The customization and build possibilities only make it better.

WASD is better to me because there is 0 delay in time required to go in any direction and no risk of clicking on anything. With click to move you have to pan your mouse which takes time, then you die.

However, gamepad is the best way to play, the only way for me. I can do so much more at once in a coordinated way, where on the keyboard even with WASD I feel like I'm flailing madly. And I have decades of WASD gaming experience (In fact I'm a reformed mouse & keyboard snob) so it just seems to me that this is one of those games where the gamepad is the right tool for the job. YMMV.

I like it for combat but my guy is often running backwards if my cursor isn't out in front. lol

The game was clearly designed around WASD / a controller, so that's how I play it.

Save your wrists in the long-term. Using a controller as much as possible is even better. Just trying to help -- left-clicking the mouse since d1 is how I developed CTS, and was/is entirely predictable and to be expected.

In contrast to a lot of people, I hate WASD here. Now, I am NOT saying it's bad, it's just not MY cup of tea. I am used to "click to move". I also use 8,700 DPI, so I have no issues pointing anywhere to dodge right away, or clicking back and forward to kite and attack.

I also have no problems with other classes and their abilities. If I need to use multiple abilities, I can just key bind to my mmo mouse side buttons and done. It's personal preference. My respects to those who use WASD in this game cause I just can't lol.

So many noobs with a controller wow. Never even entertained the thought of WASD and never will. Controllers and POE, that's a meme for casuals

Point to click is dated massively and have maybe 10 players stil using it cause they cant move on from older things.WSAD is and been the Future 100%
