Any build that plays smooth and is fun to play is getting the hammer.
Its surprising though that lightning on both sorc and ranger has gone on this long being this strong. It was far stronger than cast on freeze comets.
Archemage right now is going to be the next nerf after this week. After that maybe deadeye lightning rod/arrow.
Infernalist will continue to get more arsonist changes to reduce their dps.
Why cant we have fun like they promised us in the interviews? They said they'd go easy on the nerfs. So much for that.
It's not necessarily meant to be smooth. Difficult endgame content is *meant* to be challenging and require a modicum of skill.
I really don't think it would be that much of an issue if the hardcore players didn't cry and throw a fit over simple powerful builds though. Jealous that a casual player can more easily achieve what they've achieved. It's somewhat of a reasonable response I guess, but I just really get a kick out of seeing them whine and rage over it. 🤣🤣
Regardless, playing around with broken builds will always be one of my most memorable experiences in PoE1. It's not all that often that games allow you to have that kind of freedom to manipulate game mechanics. That's what drew me to PoE in the first place, and whether certain builds are intended or not, they are part of what keeps me returning to the game throughout the years.
Seems like they are going back on the philosophy with PoE 2.
Anytime someone finds something new and it works and farms T15's pretty smooth, not too fast and not too slow. It gets nerfed.
Comet was only shredding bosses as it does alongside frost wall. Now it's just frost wall and it still slaps bosses but soon that wont be the case.
We just cant have a good middle ground. They see someone clearing screens 1 week into a release and they get trigger happy with the nerfs even though later they'll come out with content that requires screen clearing.
It doesn't make a bit of sense for GGG to do this.
Funneling me into a different way I want my build to work is the opposite of freedom which in the interviews they said it'd be wide and vary many ways to play how you want.
Looks like I'm stuck on T5 maps because my clear took a major hit and I cant get the gear to get past the nerf. I am also not willing to drop the playstyle of auto bombing comets.
I actually changed up my build since posting that and just saw your response. Guess what works wonders...having 2 CoF's at the same time lol.
Electrocute is just as effective, but i'm playing monk.
Gonna be poe 1 balance all over again just because they dont want people to have fun with auto bombers and auras.
Just wait till templar hits and it becomes the least played ascendancy class because auras suck.
