Ranger Gas Arrow

Is there not some way to ignite this naturally as a single click cast? Seems odd that ranger relies on gimmicks to do good damage while caster can just spam a single spell and wreck everything. Poison DoT is lacking without these explosions and two click kills are mega slow when you need to spam to clear maps. Seems odd to remove the old toxic rain and make ranger into a knock-off lightning mage or slow DoT poison gimmick class.
