i am lvl 83.
Experience penalties add nothing to the game that is positive. It's inexcusable by anyone but the "old school" masochists.
How much do you make a year and how many hours do you work? Do you have a wife? Do you have kids? Do you have responsibilities?
Don't answer, nobody actually cares, I genuinely don't care.
My dog just threw up so I ran stopped everything I was doing to check if she is okay, cleaned it up, and came back. Could've died here in PoE2 if it was on, and I'd have lost an hour or so of my progression. But your post reminds me of a time where I had the same perspective....
It was 20+ years ago, I was obese, I got dumped for being fat and a loser, playing video games all day, my entire self worth was derived from gaming, I thought people who wanted easier games were soft and entitled. Lineage 2, with full loot pvp and Final Fantasy XI with -10% exp on death + deleveling possible were my go to games.
Thank ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god I started succeeding in the real world.
Now imagine off screen corpse exploders + exploding sigils placed at your location + random fire mines on top of stacked ground effects everywhere. All of this while mobs have 25% more global speed buffs, 40% more damage + 37% added chaos damage, and the player has -15% to resist caps. So, it's not one thing in particular that gets you, it's a combination of things. At level 92, I can't afford a death, the exp penalty is far too costly, so i bail on maps if they're too crazy.
Try playing w/ friends who spam ice wall then dying to chaos orbs none of us can see. Then ppl will say "THIS IS GOOD GAME DESIGN, IT'S YOUR FAULT!"
This community is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious. It's like frozen in the late 2000s and no one grew up!
Anybody who posts any variation of "git gud" or "skill issue" is met with a block. Life is good. I also block people who feel the need to announce their departure or just troll. I also block foreign language users, not because of any wrongdoing, but simply because as a dufus, I don't understand a word of it. This is the only Steam group that I've even used the block option, and I'm starting to get addicted.
This is a classic example of a snowflake response—open only to positive feedback. When faced with negative criticism, you resort to blocking instead of addressing the issue. Avoiding criticism won’t help; focus on improving your skills/build instead. If you do, you might stop struggling in the endgame. Closing your eyes—or blocking—won’t make you better.
and then negate all that with mobs that one shot you. in packs.
this is such a bad take i wish i could respond in an equally patronizing way
People also say its to stop people from being glass cannons but every build as usual is about deleting the boss and mobs before the fight can be prolonged or mobs can surround you anyway so all they end up doing as usual is punish the builds that do less damage more severely like always.
100%. gamers back then used that death penalty to build up their characters. gamers nowadays are drafting a lawsuit on the forums to sue the company for their loss of time.
we are doomed
total delusion all this creates in pratice is a mass of players that will go my Energy shield 15k life so i can do it without get punished or wathever the top meta build is.
and theyll still get one shotted in this game, meaning theyll do what people have always done and max offense to kill things faster than they can be one shot.
