Game Crashes
Hi everyone,

I've played for about 10 hours, and throughout all these 10 hours, the game has been freezing (unable to do anything or close) completely or crashing to the desktop at varying intervals. I’m not experiencing any performance issues or anything else like that.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and are there any possible solutions for it?

My specs are:

Processor AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor
Video Card #2 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER
RAM 32 GB

I have no problems in any other game, so i suppose it's a PoE2 problem

Try changing from DX12 to Vulkan and vice versa. Fixed it for me.

Well the game kept randomly freezing my entire pc (can move cursor and click around but nothing else, can't alt f4, ctrl alt del, alt tab, nothing but a forced shutdown will do) and i looked around, here's what i gathered and tried with no crash or freeze since:

After u launch the game, and you need to do this every time you launch it, go to task manager, right click poe, go to detail, then r-click again, set afinity, uncheck core 0 and 1 (so it doesn't free the entire pc and u can force shutdown it, haven't happened since i did this tho), then in the game, switched to directx 11 instead of directx 12.

There will be some lags and fps dip but overall will still be playable, smooth 90% of the time, though i'm just waiting for an actual patch fix instead of messing with my own stuff to play.

This is afaik only for the random freezes, mine doesn't crash to desktop more than once since launch so i wasn't concerned with it.

solution for me was, switch from DirectX to Vulcan and when the game starts at login screen, switch to task manager, select POE process, select details, select affinity, disable cores 0&1, no more crashes

Hey, might be an off-topic question but how does PoE2 run for you with your specs? I'm considering buying the ryzen 7700 + 7800xt gpu and i would like to be able to do maps wthout fps issues. Do you think these specs will be enough or would i need better specs for that? Thanks!

on the 40x0 rtx cards there is someone who says check video card settings and increase buffers sizes. See if this does something for that.

been having this issue also, there's a app out that auto swaps ur cores to prevent hard crashes, its not 100% effective for me but it works more than not.. went from crashing every 10-20 min to being able to play for a few hours at a time now, the app is called PoEUncrasher search it on google should bring u to a github page heres link also if i can post links
