Are you guys using DX12 or Vulkan?
Curious to know what other people are running. I noticed a slight FPS increase switching to Vulkan. My GPU is Nvidia though, and my CPU is AMD.

Its interesting. I've been switching between both and noticed that with Vulkan on my rin, I do get higher frames, but it fluctuates drastically anywhere from 65-90 with me just taking a few steps, whereas DX12 stays at a consistent 75 no matter what. So just due to the stability of DX12, I'll have to go with that, as consistent FPS > Fluctuating FPS.

I do play at 1440p with all graphics maxed and no DLSS.
5700x3D
RTX 3080 10GB

use DLSS. u will be surprized.

I did previously, but I think I ruined it for myself by switching it off at one point to test performance. The overall clarity of the image is much better without it.

Its been a battle for me honestly. Do i want a blurrier image but 130 FPS, or do I want to sacrifice that, go for 80FPS but have a sharper, cleaner image.

Ultra potato pc here - it's the backup of my backup of my backup - an old i5 2500 with a GeForce 780 inside ( and not even a ti ). The game is actually playable, which is a surprise, as long as everything remains on low, of course. 30 to 40 fps at 1080p.

Vulkan is overall smoother than dx12, and loading times are way shorter too.
It however comes at a price : big freezes and heavy stuttering everytime you meet a new foe/see a new visual effect on a map.
I guess dx loads everything it will need on entering a map while vulkan streams stuff as they come ?

AMD GPU Rx 6750 XT, directx 12 on windows 10, never had an issue or crash, fps only drops during very intense mob density moments but that's expected on every GPU at the moment.
dx12 on my 3070ti -- 0 crashes and almost 150 hours played now
DX12, it defaults to it. And it works perfectly fine.
Crashed once every hour until I swapped to Vulkan.

Microsoft rarely updates it's DX12 system files (dlls), you have to manually update them if you have issues from the MS site if you are having DX12 issues.

Vulkan swallows up more system resources, and honestly GGG has done zero optimisation with this API, maybe they will later ?

But if it works for you, great.

dx12, vulkan wont be competitive for years still.
Mike Jan 4 @ 5:12pm
I use dx12, works well and good fps with no noticeable stutters. If i had issues i would no doubt try vulcan as its a good render api too - Use whatever works best for you. As for what api GGG focuses most on... no clue.
