PoE2 review so far, 8.8/10

Really brief ongoing review to be amended as i progress. Currently in Act 2. Ive played warrior, monk and mercenary lvl 26.

Graphics : Borderline forget what reality is for a top down game is very impressive. Boss models, and environments all top tier.

Sound : Wonderful and ambient sound. Games zone and boss soundtrack are the best ive experienced in this genre. Really like the pacing and urgency of some of the music during boss fights. You know its good when you are humming the boss tracks 24 hours later.

Gameplay : Simple yet deep. I am enjoying the gem combos and theorycrafting for efficiency based on boss and zone dynamics. I suspect there will be much more to come as i continue leveling. I am only in act 2.

Bugs : Bugs are keeping this game from being a 9.7/10 out of the box. Def some real bugs here including instance party errors, program siezing, and sometimes memory leaks and it will lock up your entire rig to then be hard rebooted with power on/off. Thats a really bad bug. Console players are making choices of skin based on picking up more frames and fluid gameplay. This is a beta so this was expected going in. Frankly, you can look past all of this still because of the presence of a great game.

Loot: shared loot and non personal loot is great. Forces groups to have meaningful gameplay decisions and experiences with others. This should return to most/all games going forward.


Overall, 8.8/10 with potential to rise to 9.7/10 if the bugs are shored up. How is everyone else enjoying it so far?
