Its not the same, but yes it is still a large, shared skill tree between all characters.

Yes. Skill tree.

Even bigger. Much, much bigger ;)

They made the skill tree larger but also far less interesting. Hopefully they add some really good nodes on full release. Also there is lots of "buff this but penalize you at the same time" and I find that whole design philosophy to be annoying as hell. IT doesn't feel good.
I much prefer to discover strong synergies/interactions without feeling like I am constantly being held back for it.

The skills are different can't slot and combine OP gems any more
You need to get uncut gem from lvl 1 and choose from 4 crappy skills

Skill tree has never been complicated. Your skills do fire damage? Click the thing that says fire damage. Baffles me how people can find it complicated, they gotta be joking.

It's been simplified, so it won't filter you this time around.

The skill tree is very imposing at first glance but its something that can be learned with not much effort. However when getting into more complicated builds you will need to master it to get off the ground in complex builds. With refunding now much easier than POE1 its easier to get out of stuff that is bad. so its mostly working out the new game mechanics and later stages if you get that far. Also you can easily brick a character if you get bad RNG on equipment. The skill tree is simply put easy to learn, hard to master. Its just hard to juggle every mechanic. I'm being very basic about this right now. Too many things to talk about than just the tree.
