Move speed is the best defensive stat…why?
So many bosses have 1 shot abilities. Why not just make dodging and positioning your first line of defense against bosses over evasion/energy shield/armor?

My anecdote: First trials for ascendancy class. I had a 40% move speed boon. Made Rattlecage trivial. I no flasked that fight. Not one other boss could I do that too.

I dislike one shot mechanics unless the attack is so telegraphed or just iconic to the fight. For example Fatalis novas during phase changes in monster hunter.

I’d rather just spec full dps and “get gud” at dodging honestly.

The best defense stat is replaying the areas. You get better items , skills, exp , gold and pretty much any advantage imaginable. That is if you like play the game the super easy way . If you dont mind the difficult and dying then you can go through the content one time and rush through the area stacking enemies. Honestly this is not a hard game and it become insanely easy once you figure this out. Also GGG listened to feedback and did a big boost to item drop but most importantly currency drop which means now its far easier to get the item you want or closer to it.

I play frost monk, I use one skill, i rarely use any flasks. Everything freezes, everything slows and when it dies it gives me back my health. With a few doge rolls and enemy awareness I play on the easy mode.

My ass was kicked with the boss of end ACT I, but now I realize that if I redid the areas , got better loot and stats , now that I am barely in ACT II, i decided to replay some areas and and made a huge difference with the boss, it can still kick my ass but is a ton easier. I rarely roll and I very rarely use ranged skills. I melee almost all time.

So yeah farm, farm, farm and then farm more and the game will be super easy or as easy as you want it to be.

I think the game can do a better job at explaining this because it took me 20 hours to figure that I am not suppose to rush through the content expecting a moderate experience. But this is early access so no problemo.

No, not really, replaying the same area only means you are doing bad decisions, or are bad at the game. Progression should be seeked, because all you do by "farming" the same content over and over again is supporting bad decisions till you brute force an desired result.

You are correct, by reaching lvl 50, i realised that casting speed +30% on my weapon, isnt even about damage output or mana, its about survival, since when your character slows down to cast a spell, he is slowed for anybody to attack you. And the slower the casting speed, the longer he stands in the -80% movement speed.

So now casting speed is my most important stat, because of movement speed.

Then I am bad at the game, still have loads of fun and make sure I get back all my money's worth. I like redoing content. I have very little interest even reaching end game. By ACT 3 I may have quit the game and moved to another game. I am NOT interested in being good at games, I play games just for fun and relaxation.

If you dont like redoing content , and you are a competitive player with ambitions then yes you are not going to have an easy time with POE2.
