"Diablo 4 killer..." Really? I don't see it.

I'm enjoying POE2 so far, but I don't see what would keep me playing for many hours like Diablo 4:

1) Combat doesn't feel as good. I'm seeing that people like the slow paced action, but so far Ive been quite bored with kiting around standard mobs while shooting over and over and over.

2) Feeling isolated. It's always online like D4 yet only time you see other players is in town. No world events (that i know of), no PVP, etc. Then why does it need to always be online?

3) Skill tree is over-hyped. Once you piece off the part of the tree that's for your class, it's not as overwhelming as ppl claim it is. Plus what you can choose isn't really that special. +5 attributes, 3% attack speed, etc. Again, it's not that it's terrible, but I don't see what makes this any more special than paragon points in D4.

4. Purchasable cosmetics: They all look really goofy. If I put many hours in this game I'd like to support it, but they all look silly, kind of like New World's cosmetics.

5. Can't customize character. Can't make him/her look any different. No transmogs, like D4.

I don't think this game is terrible, just so far over-hyped to the max like Wolcen and last epoch.

Edit: instead of getting upset and throwing jesters my way, please explain what makes POE2 better? Because I was hoping to end up spending thousands of hours in this game like ppl claimed I would.

Even with a good build, i find fighting standard monsters just boring as hell, and more of a chore then anything, the only fun part of the game is the bosses.

Sure, PoE2 looks amazing, like most UE5 games do, but everything else is just PoE1 rehashed league mechanics. The game lost almost 200K players in less than 2 days. Went from more than 1M viewers on twitch, to the usual 300K-400K viewership.

It is obvious that a lot of people didn't liked the game, and that's ok. It's ok that other people like it. But saying this game is like the second coming of Jesus Christ, is laughable.

This happened to Diablo 4, as well. AARPGs have always been a niche genre. They get pushed into the mainstream, and then people that play CoD daily quit.

Problem I see is first impressions are everything in the gaming industry.
While they might continue to cook for 6 months or more before final release, it will matter little if the initial impression was not favourable.

I think they should have waited another 6 months for EA access, and balanced the classes and overall gaming experience better.

You like a game that offers no innovation whatsoever, a rehash of older titles that still doesnt come close to the one game that it made it all happen, so what exactly should compete with that? I guess Torchlight Infinite?

Let's be honest, there are a lot of similarities between POE 1 and POE 2 to a point where this feels more like an expansion to POE 1 than an actual different game.
Since POE 1 was not a "diablo killer" either, I feel like this constant comparison between diablo and POE is not beneficial to any discussion.

Oh for sure, but the difference is that PoE 2 expands on PoE 1, whereas Blizzard is trying their hardest to not expand on Diablo 2 at all.
