Great gameplay, terrible map design.
There's no design at all, since it's all procedural, but they could've at least created a GOOD algorithm. Right now every dungeon is just pure nonsense full of dead ends.

Nah.

The map window itself is terrible, and so is the navigation and quest interface.

Dungeons do make you backtrack.

dead-ends are the whole point. It's a maze and you have to explore and fight your way out, that's how these games work

I agree with you, I like exploring every tiny cave turning. But the campaign has you backtrack for no reason without the exploration

It takes a while to get used to the logic of map gen, the "exit" of an area is pretty much always in the same direction no matter how the map was generated.

Though the maps are really tight corridors most of the time, and bosses can easily go out of your narrow field of view in the arenas which is pretty annoying at times.

I have really been enjoying the map designs a lot. I cant agree with you so far but I am only in Act 2. To each their own

I always just follow the left or right side of the wall , but i still think the maps are too big, you have to explore the whole to not miss out a boss or something

i like the design. i often naturally gravitate to the correct path i ive got no clue how they trick me into that

Look for the checkpoint and keep moving

Random generation doesn't mean they don't design anything by the way. Usually it's a tile system where each tile is first handmade and then tiles are placed randomly following specific rules.

So even with random generation the map design can still not have narrow corridors everywhere in a game where bodyblocking is so common.
