If you get youre skills wrong (which will happen to many new players) you can either give up or grind grind grind, as you can neither change your skills nor easily reset your entire passive skill tree. They said it would be easier to reskill because you could just change it with gold. Well, unfortunately that costs a fortune and money is in short supply...

I have the feeling that POE was never meant for anyone other than die-hard fans who defend the game to the teeth and don't allow any criticism. With the prices in the store, you don't need anyone other than Whales.

I do think that item drops should be fixed as well as a way to easily get more skill gems. Other than that the game is fine.

I'm not a PoE purist, but I played a BIT of the first. The changes to the skill system look pretty reasonable to me:
* Kill stuff to get skill gems, the higher level you are the higher level skills you can fast forward to (i.e unlock skills directly at LVL4 from char lvl10 onwards.
* Play an ALT, give the skill gems to your main if you are so weak you can't kill appropriate mobs. Gems can go in the stash.
* Passives can be reset once you've unlocked the NPC and I understand it's just gold to do so. Correct me if I'm wrong, but money is shared?

Much better than the first game, which had coloured socket requirements and specific skills dropped, rather than uncut gems, iirc.

If you skill wrong, pull the supports and skill and try something else. Support gems will work with other gems. Skill gems are not permanent and you get tons of uncut skills and support gems all the time.

OP said they checked YT and Google for advice on how to play and found nothing.

This thread has a ton of great advice. Hopefully it doesn't go to waste. Game is awesome.

Game is super easy to respec? I have a stockpile of uncuts sitting in my stash and I’ve respec’d passives twice now and still have 20k+ gold. I’ve also bought a couple items off the shops…

He's not wrong, in act 2 i didn't drop a single gem at all, even from bosses, i got a few from missions and that's it, going bacl to bosses to farm the again doesn't drop anything but blue crap, gold farming? Ok but the more you farm and respec, the more it cost and 300/1000 gold each is expensive as hell.
And i love grinding.. that's beyond reality, bad drops just to inflate hours played.
