On my Necromancer, I chose the Elemental skill "Fire Wall", which is great for the damage it causes anyway. The fun thing is that having played a newbie Sorcerer, I knew that anything fired through it, such as the Sorcerer's spells, adds Fire damage to the spell's effect. What's great for my Necromancer is that this includes the arrows from Skeleton Archers, which added a ton of fun to combat for me!!
This was the same in PoE1, really. They put the crappy skills in the first few acts because planned obsolescence
+1
I like the new gem system, where we no longer need to play the horrible socket roulette on gear. However the limiting of support gem types used on your skills seems very unnecessary and limiting to your builds. I started with a witch to 18 I think, and then switched to merc, now 19. It definitely affected the merc a lot, when it comes to abilities, especially as its designed to be switched through the different ammo types on the fly, not very ideal in a fight to stop and switch support gems too.
That being said, I know this is EA/Beta, where the devs want OUR input for the direction of the game, as well as reports on any bugs or breaks. I think as long as people are being constructive, they should be pointing out observations or changes that they would like to see made.
It's to force you to use different setups and not having the same op combo with every skill
lol and right that is why PoE is so awesome. When you think like, hey, that might work, and it just works.
