Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Skills don't seem fun.
The skills I want to play are too weak. The skills that do the most damage just aren't fun.

Have you tried a bit of character hybridization? If not, hang on to Uncut Skill Gems that randomly drop at any level. If you get an Uncut Skill Gem, you can right-click it, select whatever skill type takes your fancy and start using it.

On my Necromancer, I chose the Elemental skill "Fire Wall", which is great for the damage it causes anyway. The fun thing is that having played a newbie Sorcerer, I knew that anything fired through it, such as the Sorcerer's spells, adds Fire damage to the spell's effect. What's great for my Necromancer is that this includes the arrows from Skeleton Archers, which added a ton of fun to combat for me!!

Monsters and bosses are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over-tuned, also what's the point of the game being harder at the start and getting easier after you finish the campaign?!

While I am having a great time with the game, the difficulty up to lvl 10 should be reduced a bit, and the gold coin and gear drops improved. Nothing OP needed, but those levels are hard to gear up for.

The real issue is how awful the support gems are in comparison to PoE 1. On top of that, they made this random restriction that you can't use more than one support gem of the same type. I just don't get the design choices made in this game. I think it might be the most anti-player game I've ever experienced so the devs can stroke their egos or something. Just baffling.

There are good and fun skills later, act 1 and 2 are a POS though.

This was the same in PoE1, really. They put the crappy skills in the first few acts because planned obsolescence

+1

I like the new gem system, where we no longer need to play the horrible socket roulette on gear. However the limiting of support gem types used on your skills seems very unnecessary and limiting to your builds. I started with a witch to 18 I think, and then switched to merc, now 19. It definitely affected the merc a lot, when it comes to abilities, especially as its designed to be switched through the different ammo types on the fly, not very ideal in a fight to stop and switch support gems too.

That being said, I know this is EA/Beta, where the devs want OUR input for the direction of the game, as well as reports on any bugs or breaks. I think as long as people are being constructive, they should be pointing out observations or changes that they would like to see made.

It's to force you to use different setups and not having the same op combo with every skill

Wrong, you could have things like Ice Shot and Lightning Arrow at like Level 4 or 6 which was about five or ten minutes into the game. Orb of Storms and Arc were available very early on. Caustic Arrow was available almost immediately. I could go on and on, but it just makes me depressed over how bad this game is in comparison.

lol and right that is why PoE is so awesome. When you think like, hey, that might work, and it just works.
