Biggest amount of players out of any arpg.
So when compares to the rest of the genre (no point comparing to anything else), then it's a huge amount of players.
Doubt there will be any other arpg in near future even that will have PoE2 amount of players, especially since when full launch happens with ALL the classes and all content and product being even more finished and fine tuned = it will be so far ahead of any other game in it's genre, that rest are far away for years. And by the time others might somehow catch up, then PoE2 will have some epic expansion or season that will bring amazing content and again make a huge gap once more in popularity.
Natural that at the start with the hype many players outside the arpg genre comes to try out, like mmo players etc, so player amounts will eventually most likely settle into something more "realistic". :)
Like you know, "Classic andies" from wow who comes to try PoE2 with their friends due to hype will eventually go back to their classic wow, most gaming time they will spend anyways complaining on Reddit and Steam forums that the game is too hard for them. :D So you can count them out already.. :P Even after all the people just trying it for a week or two, it will still after those be the biggest arpg by popularity, by far.
Yes, but even at the lowest dip of the day it's still the biggest arpg. ^^
Diablo® IV 6,021 <--because of that player amount
While we don't have all statistics of all platforms, same is for PoE2.
Also, D4 bad (and deadge)
Steam charts. You know how to check charts, right? O_o
And most also use PoE2 launcher.
But Steam charts always show quite well the big picture in scale when compares games inside same genre, that have multiple platforms and very similar market, as does D4 and PoE2 have. Both have servers around world at all regiones, D4 just has it's 1st DLC out and PoE2 is Early Access, but already PoE2 is showing dominance. I think many bought D4 and just went through the story campaign once and never logged in again (i am one of those). We shall see how it goes with PoE2. It will also have certain share of players for few weeks from other genres. And then when full launch happens more. Since some will wanna wait until have all classes and all ascendancies and fully free to play, so it will pop off then and be youuuge.
You know they have very similar player base and scaling of it between every platform.
One can just test that 6k+ D4 player amount vs 200k+ PoE2 player amount by logging in on both and seeing how much you actually see other players around in town hubs. D4 is probably quite the ghost town currently. Even the few of most hardcore D4 players currently are salty and spends more time on PoE2 reddit and forums trying to troll post because their tribalistic rage has been unleashed due to realizing their game is dead. :)
