Cant allocate points on the tree

I am having an issue allocating a point on the tree, I am literally stuck it will not let me allocate several points on the tree even though I have more than enough points to allocate with. I am playing the Mercenary I am going down the right side Remorseless / Ricochet / 10% projectile damage and then the attribute node....but i cant allocate go up towards "Volatile Catalyst" or down towards Clear Space or Quick Change Act.

The crazy thing is I was able to allocate the node just below Hard to Kill and Life re-gen node but I can go up allocate either of them or down to allocate the Two Handed damage.

I am super frustrated and confused.
If anyone can help or explain I would be very grateful

ah yes you probably are trying to allocate normal points beond your weapon specialisation points, go a couple nodes back, the line should be white instead of slightly hued. then if you assign points it will release the specialisation points.
