Like, Shaper levels of overtuned.
If you fought him at level 10.
My monk with very, very minimal defenses specced on the skill tree wasn't getting 1 shot even by his giant sword slam.
If my paper thin monk isn't getting 1 shot then beefy boys who actually have some armor shouldn't be either.
i'm just extremely nervous about playing this game.
Compared to PoE 1.
Ah I am exaggerating a bit I'm not getting one shot but he eats through my entire health bar with some of his moves in like 0.5s
Most bosses are fine? This is the first one I have come across that make me think "This is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥"
He is super tough, I'll give you that.
Toughest guy I've fought and I'm almost through act 3 now.
I thought we were talking about the final boss of ACt 2 here?
Yeah the final boss of Act 2
He's no miniboss for certain.
Well you do fight him earlier in act 2, then he flies away.
Yeah. True.
And from what I saw of that fight, he's a lot less meaner than the final fight.
oooooh yea. He's gloves off when you fight him in the finale.
1. Stay close to him and roll around him, yes even mages should. I played a witch.
2. When the duo following pylons show up they predict where you are going to just walk into the wall at an angle and they will bug out and limply follow behind you so you don't need to dodge. Careful though this can fail, but its remarkably consistent across my attempts. I got this to work about 75% of the time across my 8 or so attempts.
3. In the second phase repeat as the first stay close to him and roll around him. If you cant stay close, go around the edge of the arena to heal up his spells seem to only be able to land in a area in a radius around the centre that's smaller than the total arena size.
4. His large sword swing has inconsistent timings on it. The wind up is about 1 second longer than it feels like it should be. The big halberd swing can be inconsistently dodged by rolling towards and to the left or right of him.
5. Don't be scared of the dual sword move it did not hit me once in my 4 attempts on the second phase.
6 (ish). Specifically for those using ice spells DO not sleep on using freezing shards to do this boss the spell is cracked for bossing.
