It does not seem as harsh as sanctum was and lots of fountains along the way to boost it back up, but yeah before I tried it i thought the same thing.

that's fortunate. i completely mastered all the side content in POE1 except sanctum. the character i'm using in POE2 (mercenary) is the first proper ranged character i've ever built and when i came across the ascendancy for the first time I immediately felt validated in that choice. easiest clear ever
