So $28 D4 cosmetic bad - $62 PoE2 cosmetic good?
Just trying to get this playerbase's opinions down.

I paid $30 for d4 on sale a couple months ago and just paid $30 to get into poe2. So same price, more expensive cosmetics?

This is just a bunch of gaslighting non sense. At least compared to GD or LE. Comparing with D4, the worst of the bunch....

Ill list it for you. d4 paid game, poe2 paid early access. Apples to apples tied up. Better yet we wont even include poe2 early access and just say its free and imagine you waited to play it on full release. So well put poe2 ahead 40 dollars.

d4-
10 dollar season pass for multiple full sets of gear cosmetics, multiple weapon and off hand cosmetics, pets, mounts, mount cosmetics, back cosmetics, portal cosmetics along with a plethora of other seasonal cosmetics.

Poe2-

45 dollars minimum for a full set of gear cosmetics. that's at least 6 full d4 season passes worth of purchases seeing that in a diablo 4 season pass you earn back nearly a majority of what you paid for in cosmetic store currency and can put that towards your next pass so all in all if you bought all the seasons so far that's 10 seasons worth of cosmetics.

Total equivalent cosmetic value between games. Diablo 4 120 dollars between base game, expansion, and a battle pass assuming you have purchased every battle pass since release.

POE2 equivalent in expense 420 just for 10 armor sets which you'll have gotten more in d4 passes, 150 dollars for 10 portals which again you'd have gotten more in d4 passes, the only 3 pets you can buy in poe2 40 dollars which you'd have more in d4 with the passes so far. Then you add in the visual effects your looking at well over 700 dollars to get far less cosmetics i have been able to get from diablo.

To say POE2 cosmetics are over priced is the understatement of the century! If we could include similar extra cosmetics you get from d4 like mounts, mount amour, weapons, off hands you'd probably be looking at well over a 1000 dollars for poe2...

And no stop with stupidity you paid acces ,, if you pay diablo IV ,, you have acces to the game ,, you are never forced to pay any of cosmetics ,, they don't sell power or stashes ,, and if you tell me about expansions which is for 20 years in-games ,, like evolving a game in story and so on , thats not MTX ,, its paid content story

In POE you are squish of every peny for features ,, its give you tons of loot , for dont have space in inventory and deposit as many as posible ,,

I was like better POE2 was paid version and thats it ,, and give me as many stash i want or make items less spaces

I don't really have a problem with buying things I like in the cash store. But here I'm really starting to think about whether I should stop playing. The prices are RIDICULOUS! In D4 there was at least armor that looked okay to good. Here? Nothing. If you want to play with a good looking char = cash store. There is no excuse for these prices. The armor is not half as well designed as in D4. I find it so ominous that everyone withholds any criticism. Like it's forbidden to say anything against POE2. That alone is absolutely unsympathetic and makes me look at the game with different eyes.

As others pointed out, the correct comparison is:
Diablo IV base + expansion = 70$
Poe2 = 0$, after release.

For PoE2, high prices are to subsidise the game for those who don't pay anything.
For DIV, there is no excuse for their prices, as you need to pay a base price just to get into the game already.

The PoE 2 fanboys are massive hypocrites across the board. It's not just MTX, they also defend PoE 2's crafting as the best thing ever, when it's the same multi-layer RNG fest as D4, click the orb and hope you get the randomly assigned affix(es) you need.

poe players hate diablo players because its blizzard.
Its funny that wings alone cost $80 - a skin costs $45-120.
(you know blizzard? and their mobile diablo)?? XD and now look on poe where just a skin cost 120$

They also dont care that there have been nerfs every day since release, which means most people have had to respec 3 times, and now with the big nerfs they have no money left to rebuild. (only thing what these guys can say is : ohh a nerf in an EA game what a wonder"
while they are still in act 1 with their 15hrs after 1 week... LMAO

10 hours after the nerfs, 80,000 players are gone, and there will be more.

What a stupid eye rolling comment.
There is one point people here so desperately omitting when bringing up mtx in D4 - in D4 just by playing the base game you can unlock around 20+ armor sets and each set will look unique to the class you are playing resulting in over 100+ total unique sets. You can transmog different parts of gear, paint it, you can customize character itself by selecting gender, hair, face preset, tattoos etc. All of it is free once you buy the game. Sure, you can get more through mtx or battle-pass, but base game has plenty. In PoE you have zero customization without mtx, you cannot change the way your armor looks, you cannot customize your char, there isn’t even enough variety for in-game armor sets. Imo armor design in PoE 1 was pure dog sh*t resulting in your character forever running without pants. PoE 2 is a bit better. If there wasn’t any mtx in the game you would see world hubs full of characters looking identical to each other.

TL;DR
Diablo 4 - customization and plenty of variety in the base game.
PoE - zero variety or customization so you are forced to buy mtx if you want to look distinct.

P.S. I love both games btw.

POE does one thing right and its traumatising their players into submission for the dumbest crap imaginable.

At the end of the day if a game is F2P you will always have people who are vocal about how amazing the game is because:

Not everyone is from a rich country

Plenty of people on the internet are actually children with no income

Whales

Also related are the people with a bee in their bonnet about blizzard for whatever reason.

GGG have built a community so you have to hand it to them. They are from a small country and they tackled a genre that no one else other than Blizzard were really catering to.

If you're more concerned about the cosmetics than the gameplay, you have your priorities messed up....

Ofc it isn't. An armor skin for 60$ is just robbery by any company that does it.
