Minion scaling help
Hi, I'm trying my hand at a minion build (Raging spirit witch)
and I'm not sure which passive nodes apply to minions.

There's the obvious spell damage which I assume does not apply to minions
and minion damage which does.
But for other nodes I'm not certain.

Do the following apply to minions?:
- x% increased (Elemental/Fire) damage
- Damage penetrates X% fire resistance
- X% increased Critical Hit Chance
- X% increased Damage with Hits against burning enemies

I am also wondering this cuz the tree doesnt have any other minion modifiers. Found a weapon with 94% fire damage, do I use that or nah? I guess I will try it out.

watching a streamer
they said minions has their own dmg stats and wont benefit with crit etc that has no minion on it
but yes if minion does fire dmg . . . i think arsonist is one if you put a skill gem on the arsonist that gives fire pen it will affect it
but i have not tested it overall / dont have the game yet
this from a streamer

The rule is simple, if something doesn't explicitely says minion or allies in the description, it doesn't work.

The only exception is with support gems. Support gems socketed in minion summoning gems will apply to the attack or spell the minion is using.

For minions, you'd want to only really spec into minion damage and minion revive time, minion crit chance and maybe minion health to if your using skeletons or hellhound.

Are you guys sure it works this way in poe2? I know it worked like this in poe but that doesnt necessarily mean it works the same way in this game.

You know, i was searching for this same question. In-game, when i put rings that add Phys Damage, the damage is shown adding on the Minion Information tab. It adds to the Skeletons on Scepter and on to Raging Spirits. You can see the numbers on the minions tab. Yet, everyone says that it shouldn't. Even Added Cold Damage affects them, you can even see the freeze buildup on the boss. Is it a bug then?

its better to ditch the minions if you're soley relying on srs. Chaos/poison with srs works better.

I was actually trying to get minions to do chaos damage on hit , so I did some testing,
if it does not specifically say minion, or allies damage it will not work.
There are also no support gems for it, Which makes me kinda furious, of all things chaos is not available, which is skills are mainly chaos and you can not make any combinations, while for some reason you can go full fire minions and poison minions , or any other minions.
Not only that , there are very few sources to actually increase chaos damage besides skill tree.

Curious if the node offensive stance effects pets as it says "1% increased damage per chance to block." I would think no, but how do I test it?
As far i have tested, minions can have more dmg from "add x fire dmg, cold, lightning" if it is on rings or gloves. Also cast speed from amulets. Dmg status on weapon and off hand does not add.

This is incorrect.

If it doesn't explicitly say minions, they do not benefit from it. You are wrong.

Just type "minion" in the search box for skills. Everything that lights up affects their abilities. As far as I know, there is nothing outside of that which affects them unless it says so explicitly (like there's a node that says it will make your amulet's effects apply to your minions and not you).
