this entire honor system is garbage and should just flat out be removed. there is 0 joy in doing trails with this system in place
I'm a Titan 1h shield tank, beat 3rd trial Sekhemas. You're going to need to play this a bunch of times till you can get enough relics that give you extra honor and honor defense. Choose your path for water and the merchant. Rush every level, don't worry about clearing enemies or getting chests and keys... The 4th I'm going for Ultimatum, which is just as punishing but in a different way.
Third and fourth are an entirely different world. I also have a titan who is a tanky dude with a shield and armor etc. Slow AF.
My sekhemas experience:
First off, indeed of course you do a few trials to collect relics. Then you make a selection of relics to fit in the box that ensure you have 75% honor resistance. In addition you want extra honor and i had found a relic that allows me to look further into the maze to see what rooms are coming. that was also very helpful. While doing this you also get a bit of experience with what to expect.
The first 2 trials you can just rush your way trough as you lose single digit honor and there will be a fountain to recover those so you get out of the first 2 at full honor anyway.
The third trial you need to start taking a bit of care to keep your honor loss in check if you want to exit that trial with near full honor.
The fourth trial, you will start losing lots of honor when you take damage so you will have to be very patient and careful.
With the traps in the obstacle course, you just need practice to do them all without getting hit.
The crystals you can still run trough. You will take a little damage, but not too much if you just keep moving.
The portals and chalice, i just stay at a distance, be patience, use HOTG to eliminate them from afar one by one slowly.
Then comes the final boss. I arrived at the final boss with 2k honor remaining. I didn't think i'd have a chance with that little honor. Turned out the boss barely did anything to me. The downside was that he had insane amounts of hitpoints. So it was turning into a very long battle where he did almost no honor dmg to me and i was scratching at his enourmous HP. Until he came with that silly mechanic where you have to pick up some objects in the arena that i wasn't aware of so i died. I was annoyed and payed someone for the intstant fix. If i had known that mechanic, i would have beaten it after a 15 minute or so boring boss fight.
I did the third around Level 70-75 and the fourth around 85-90.
Something about the Sekhemas trial doesn't sit right. I know it's supposed to be a bit Rogue-like (and returning to town to sell loot in between rooms is unreliable and over complicated), but the Honour system is just plain frustrating.
I'd also like to shout out to the controller mapping for bringing up the Trial Progress window. The amount of times I've done this by accident when activating one of my flasks and lost soooo much Honour that there's no way I'll make much further progress is waaaay to much.
One more thing as a warrior; found it way too easy to get stuck on some of the terrain when using long wind up skills (that being all of them).
Bottom line for me; too much of a time/hassle investment when the whole thing can go Tango Uniform in a split second wasting all that time and effort. For me, the third and fourth ascendancy can wait until my mates can join in and all share the despair and failure
