build guides for PoE2 will focus on meta picks for skill and support gems in act 1, because only some skills are worth using at all or do damage, and if you picked the wrong ones then tough ♥♥♥♥
From Diablo to Ultima Online to DAOC and anything in-between. Non free respecs are pure cancer. It discourages experiments, punishes noobs, and kills the playerbase in situations where the skill curve/ceiling is already high.
Guildwars is the only franchise that did things correctly in that regard.
respec are free... it cost gold? if i understand correctly, since i don't have the game and just watch streamers play it... so, just get more gold?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
you can just grind for it? :o ... since path of exile is a grindy game, be it the first version or this one
Does it have to be a grindy game to be enjoyable? Would you enjoy it less if experimenting with the skill tree was free, or cheaper?
I don't know about you but I have other things to do except play this game. Besides there are other things to grind for, aside from grinding to have the ability to actually learn the game.
So far the best solution if you screw up your build and bellow lvl10 is just to straight deleting your character.
OOF that is kind of punishing, since you need the npc to unlock the respec thing?
What I say is that I want to be able to learn the game, to experiment with my passives.
I don't want to be stuck following guides that other people, who have time for grinding, make. I want to be the confident enough to make a super cray build, or a really crappy one for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.
Weren't you in the situation in PoE 1, where the game just will not give you the gear you need, but your skill tree set in stone?
In D3 you could just re-spec everything to fit the gear that you have. You play a different build for a while and when you find the gear you needed you respec back.
If you are already making mistakes on your build at that level it will be negligible at worst.
How could it!!!!!!11!!
PS: Respec is fine. The cost is there for another chance for you to use your brain and apply only the minimal respec, instead of clicking through all the tree again and again, monkey-style.
