The worst boss design I've seen so far, his adds have way too much hp/dmg, come in small groups constantly and he tries to oneshot you while you're getting rid of them
Just learn the pattern and beat his ass
Hyenas are bloody hp sponges and he's a sh*t boss experience for melee overall. Constant bodyblocks, huge random aoes, small arena, slow-casting heat seeking oneshots are wasting your time
need to specc into some CC was a cakewalk with my ice monk
You say melee is the worse experience on him, and yet you can absolutely cheese him by sticking to his face and just rolling behind him when he does literally anything.
You can kill him effectively without moving him from his spawn point.
He basically won't use the huge line AoE slam if you're close to him, and it's the only dangerous move he has.
I did it on coop with a friend who died about 30% of the way in. I did the rest solo as a pyro/minion witch usimg sceptre/shield.
The adds are easily cleaved down and if you fight him near to his spawn point and dont kite him around, the adds leave you alone and he doesn't use half his kit.
If you're struggling on any boss, just do as we do on Monster Hunter.
Engage. Observe. Learn.
Start the fight and just watch for mechanics and the animations that precede them.
