Yes, about 1 second after each line, from the opposite side of the arena.
Problem becomes he doesn't determine his running direction until the exact moment he spawns and will cross the arena faster than you can react.
If your caught in a casting animation while this happens your basically screwed or if your in the "slow" phase of the dodge roll recovery animation.
If he determined where he was running from at the beginning of the line of poem so you could actually plan for it with the gigantic piles of adds they throw at you then you could position right to fight the adds.
As if you've got 2 choices, run from the boss or run from the adds, you can't do both, and ignoring either will kill you.
It's a regular interval, what direction he is coming from is irrelevant. Just dodge roll..
Faster than YOU can react, maybe. You should be able to anticipate when he is about to run out of the mist and begin your roll before he is visible. I killed him yesterday as a warrior.
I also had a piece with cold resistance that helped me not slowing down too much.
So... you clearly didn't read where I said "hitpoint gating", because that's exactly what warrior is.
Try it on a witch, I dare you, got $100 says you can't beat him first try.
I think the point is to try different skills/strategies. The exhilaration when he went down was Elden Ring level but ye he was a pain.
So far the only boss that has really given me a hard time was the countess cemetery boss with her bone prison thing which took me like a dozen tries because the bone prison appeared to be unavoidable it didn't seem to matter when I dodged it was always perfectly applied, and then the deaths were cause I couldn't break it in time, only after I changed out my skill set to something that could break it quickly enough did I clear it.
So far I find poe2 weird, it is way more similar to poe1 than I expected. The pacing is much slower in some respects, but it is also easier to avoid hit damage since the movement/strafing is different it lets you move while casting to an extent and that lets you avoid a lot of close range stuff even if mobs are on top of you. The exception is if you get surrounded by a lot of mobs and then can't move at that point if you don't have cc or knockback or sufficient dps then theres nothin you can do. Like there was this one area, with the rituals that has a checkpoint right next to two of them, well I clear the rituals but then get sniped by something else in a different area and when I respawn at the checkpoint all the ritual mobs have respawned and the checkpoint is right in the middle of them, this resulted in multiple deaths just cause there the character gets insta surrounded by a dozen mobs.
I had this phase 4 or 5 times and at this part I just dodge and doing nothing else and wait that the phase ends. Easy kill if you take your time <3
