I feel like every game is trying to go for twitchy adhd gameplay now with fast inputs and instant rewards, so the fact that a game like this comes out once in a while doesn't bother me at all.
and now as monk, I somehow enjoy it, but it is even a little too slow for me, but I still like it.
PS: found two exalted in one village, act1 :)
Certain builds can move around much faster and that does help with the feeling of slogging. Also helps if you demolish everything in site instantly lol.
My sorc and monk both seem to flow pretty well, killing groups quickly and getting from point to point quite fast. It helps that I have some decent movement buffs on my eq at this point as well.
But yeah, a minor boost to base movement speed wouldn't be a bad thing. New players, or players who have always been able to trade for uniques etc on PoE may find the current setup a bit of a downer.
I was there for the beta and then EA of PoE 1, and it was a slow slog then as well. You had to find your own equipment and especially some starting classes seemed DOG slow (looking back at you maurader!!). Even their attack speeds were so slow ugh.
It's actually not as bad in PoE 2 if my memory is right, either that or I just know tricks and ways to speed things up more.
Ranged helps as well, if you don't have to get up and personal with everything, it moves things along and you are generally progressing in the direction you want to go constantly while killing things. Monk gets by that with naturally moving faster (depending on nodes you take) and abilities that help you move etc.
Anyway doubt they will change it, and doubt it'll be a problem long term as people get more items and especially once trade starts going. Only really was annoyed with the movement speed on my warrior to be honest, and that wasn't TOO bad.
literally a pain without shuttle service
nobody ever called that game slow tho
mb its bcuz u guys got used to d3 and d4. never really played those two games a lot bcuz they trash
And yeah i agree D2 is like you describe but despite, it's not boring and kind of punchy, both original and re mastered.
